NWA World Women's Champion Kenzie Paige def. Tiffany NievesMaybe I missed it, but I don't believe there was an on-air explanation for why Nieves got a title shot on this show instead of Haley J, who became number one contender not too long ago. It's possible they're saving that for another time, but I'm not sure what Nieves did to earn the opportunity. Nonetheless, the match was decent, but the stuff with Nieves attacking someone sitting at ringside was weird because she and Paige are both apparently heels, so neither one of them gave a shit. Natalia Markova came to the woman's aid, but despite getting physical with Nieves, the referee didn't call for the bell for some reason. What a mess. I'm not sure why any of that was needed. Stone Rockwell and Beastman def. The Heavenly ButterfliesI immediately popped when I saw Rockwell. Not only do I remember him from his brief TNA run five or six years ago, I also saw several of his matches on the northeast independent scene back in 2013 and 2014. He went by a different name at that point and I honestly thought he wasn't wrestling anymore because I haven't seen him since his TNA days. He and Beastman are a fine fit for the current NWA product, so for as goofy as this whole thing was, we've seen far worse on Powerrr in recent years, so why the hell not? NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Alex Taylor def. Jack CartwheelCartwheel was announced as part of WWE's new ID program a month ago, which I believe after this was taped, so this may have been his NWA swan song. I hated how much he relied on the flippy nonsense whenever he appeared in AEW or Ring of Honor, but it worked well here. He and Taylor had a fun match and I'm glad it went on last. The NWA needs more matches like this because the in-ring action is always lacking on these shows. Overall ShowThe match in the middle was total filler, but I guess it served a purpose if it was supposed to make the debut of Rockwell and Beastman, assuming they stick around and don't disappear after this. The opener could've been better and I'm still waiting to see Paige vs. Haley J, but it was fine and obviously had the right result. The main event was the highlight of the show and one of the best bouts on Powerrr in recent memory.
