Spencer Slade def. Alex Taylor to Win the NWA Junior Heavyweight ChampionshipI know Taylor had held the Junior Heavyweight title for a while, but I couldn't tell you exactly how long because I feel like he's only really defended it in random matches without much of a story. The matches have been well wrestled, but using this one as an example, I have no idea what Slade did to earn an opportunity at the belt. From an in-ring standpoint, however, it was solid and Slade winning was a genuine surprise. TVMA def. The Hex to Win the Vacant NWA World Women's Tag Team ChampionshipI still have no idea what the point was in vacating the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship in the first place, especially if TVMA were going to win here. The match itself wasn't all that great, either, but it's not like I had lofty expectations to begin with. At least TVMA beating The Hex meant something because The Hex were the inaugural NWA World Women's Tag Team Champions. Colby Corino Attacked Kerry MortonCorino still isn't cleared to compete coming off his neck surgery, but I'm glad he's making appearances on Powerrr in the meantime. He even got physical with Morton here, so I am curious when he'll be back in the ring. Regardless, this was a good exchange with both guys playing their roles well and it left viewers wanting to see Corino give Morton his comeuppance. NWA Television Champion Bryan Idol def. Rich SwannThis is now the second title shot Swann has gotten in the NWA and lost, so he'll have to win gold eventually if he's going to be sticking around even longer. Despite that, this was a nice match. Some of Idol's spots didn't look completely clean, so that hurt the match to a degree, but it was a worthwhile main event otherwise. Idol continues to rack up wins as Television champ. Overall ShowOne thing the NWA needs to get better with is not putting too many promos/vignettes during the commercial breaks during matches. It was painfully apparent during the opener and the main event and it hurts the flow of the matches. Otherwise, this was a thumbs-up edition of Powerrr with three title matches, so it felt significant. More titles will be on the line next week when The Immortals defend the NWA World Tag Team Championship against Blunt Force Trauma, Shotzi Blackheart challenges Natalia Markova for the NWA World Women's Championship, and Silas Mason and Thom Latimer have their NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship rematch.
