NWA Powerrr Review - July 18, 2026

Sirena Veil def. Hera

I was surprised by how short this week. I know that isn't incredibly uncommon for NWA matches, but I figured they'd make Hera more of a threat and have her score more offense before eating defeat. Apparently not. Hey, I'm not complaining as what I've seen from her in the past hasn't been very good. It feels like Veil loses more than she wins, so this was a necessary victory for her.

Federation of Champions (Lockjaw Drake, Buster and NWA United States Tag Team Champions The Slime Ballz) def. The Collection (Gilroy, Misery, Bonez and Brandon McCord)

The Collection is led by McCord, who made his NWA in-ring debut here. Also, Gilroy is the former Gaagz the Gymp. He's still doing the same stupid gimmick, just with a different name. Sure, I guess. These are two heel factions to my knowledge, so it had a weird dynamic. It was a match that just sort of existed. I didn't think Federation of Champions was the official name for Aaron Stevens' group, but it must be now.

JAC def. Big Cuzzo

Cuzzo and Daisy Kill were interviewed beforehand to establish their alliance. JAC had Eric Smalls in his corner, so yes, Kill and Smalls are still feuding. Will it ever end? Ugh. It's strange because Kill and Smalls were the focus, so that made the match a bit of an afterthought. It was perfectly passable albeit forgettable. I figured Cuzzo would win, so the outcome was unexpected.

NWA World Women's Tag Team Champions Pretty Empowered def. The Hex

This was The Hex's rematch for the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship. The match was decent and Pretty Empowered retaining the tag titles was the right call, but the focus was primarily on Veil and Paige Collett attacking Pretty Empowered afterward. It was an effective debut for Collett, who I thought made an immediate impact despite me not being familiar with her at all.

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion "Thrillbilly" Silas Mason def. Kerry Morton by Count-Out (Alex Taylor Served as Special Guest Referee)

Well, this was disappointing. Morton never showed up, so Mason won by count-out (technically forfeit?). Hopefully this is leading to an actual match soon because I was looking forward to it. The Wrestling Machines and Stevens attacked Mason, but Taylor and Bryan Idol helped him fend them off. Idol and Mason have history as rivals, so it was interesting to see them on the same side here.

Overall Show

This was a one-match show on paper coming into it and we didn't end up getting that one match, so I can't call this edition of Powerrr anything other than underwhelming. Again, I have to assume we'll get Mason vs. Morton at some point, but doing what they did in the main event slot was a bummer. The rest of the show was fine and at least Collett's debut was notable.
