Mike Orlando and The Cheese def. The Spectaculars (Spencer Slade and Brady Pierce) in a Crockett Cup Play-In MatchOrlando and Cheese first popped up a few weeks ago and I was surprised to see them win even then. They're a fine team that viewers were given zero incentive to care about during their debut, but the fact they won here as well helped with that as it essentially established them as the underdogs of the tournament. The match was decent, but the outcome was a pleasant surprise and I liked that they got some mic time afterward ahead of their first-round match with Blunt Force Trauma later on in the night. Kyle Davis Interviewed Ms. Starr, Ella Envy, La Rosa Negra and Ruthie JayStarr and Envy have nothing to do with Negra and Jay at the moment, but I appreciated that this interview time with Davis gave them all a chance to further their respective storylines and hype their upcoming matches. Starr gave an ambiguous answer as to why she's suddenly aligned with Envy, but Envy made it clear that she's done with Pretty Empowered and that it's her era now. Meanwhile, Negra and Jay addressed their rubber match with Tiffany Nieves and Reka Tehaka where a shot at the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship will be on the line. Good stuff here. The Miserably Faithful (Judais and Unified NWA Television Champion Max the Impaler) def. The Fixers in a Crockett Cup First-Round MatchI have no idea why Miserably Faithful are still a thing, but at least Max makes the group mildly bearable because she's levels above the other members. This was a well worked match and Max didn't look out of place whatsoever. Normally, I would've preferred to see The Fixers go over, but I'm all for making Max look dominant by having their team advance instead. That doesn't necessarily mean I want Miserably Faithful to win the whole thing and I don't think they will. Kyle Davis Interviewed Vampiro and Daisy KillAlex Misery and Talos were also present but said nothing. I'm glad they finally attempted to explain why Vampiro has been scouting these people for the past few weeks. Maybe the thing with Natalia Markova will still lead somewhere, but at least it looks like he's putting some sort of a stable with Misery, Kill and Talos. This segment didn't reveal much, but at least that was teased. Hopefully we don't have to wait another three weeks for more follow-up. NWA World Tag Team Champions Blunt Force Trauma def. Mike Orlando and The Cheese in a Crockett Cup First-Round Match (Non-Title)It would've been a hell of an upset for Orlando and Cheese to upset the tag team champs. Although I didn't expect that to happen, it was nice to see them tell that show-long story and take Blunt Force Trauma to their limit before falling short. It actually made the match more interesting than it would have been otherwise. Aron Stevens put over Blunt Force Trauma's dominance in a post-match interview. Overall ShowThe Crockett Cup remains the focal point of Powerrr right now and this edition was another example of how they used that to their advantage. I liked how Orlando and Cheese pulled double duty in the opener and in the main event. That alone made me want to rally behind them more than anything we saw from them in their NWA in-ring debut a few weeks back. The rest of this show was solid and moved several storylines along effectively.
