Kyle Davis Interviewed The Southern SixThis was a solid segment to build toward the tag team match in the main event as well as further tease tension between Silas Mason and Kerry Morton. This is the sort of stuff the NWA has been doing more as of late that I appreciate and I hope they keep it up, because it goes a long way in making their matches and storylines more meaningful. Everyone played their role well here. NWA World Women's Tag Team Champions The Hex def. Vipress and Sirena VeilVipress and Veil are relatively new to the NWA, so I didn't think they stood much of a chance of dethroning the recently-crowned champs, but they held their own just fine here. This also gave them a chance to develop more chemistry as partners, assuming the idea is for them to continue teaming. The match itself wasn't anything special, but I appreciate seeing the women's tag titles regularly defended. NWA National Champion Mike Mondo def. Blake "Bulletproof" TroopI remember when Troop was a regular on Powerrr. I don't remember how long ago that was, but I know it hasn't been any time within the last year (everything blends together after a while). Nonetheless, he and Mondo had a decent match. This seemed to exist so Mondo could successfully defend his title, and at least it was against someone viewers would be familiar with if they've been watching Powerrr long enough. Carson Bartholomew Drake and NWA Chicago Tag Team Champions The Hard Way def. Dr. Vik and NWA Texas Dogg Pound Tag Team Champions Devastation RebornThere was a talking segment in the ring that preceded this, but it didn't really accomplish anything other than establish who Dr. Vik was (he's appeared in plenty of vignettes but not often in front of the crowd if at all). He's strictly a character on the show and not a wrestler, so it was pretty clear how this was going to go. This gave the heels a win, but that's about it. Daisy Kill def. Hunter; Kill def. Lev by Disqualification; Eric Smalls def. KillKill hosted his open challenge once again. I thought he'd rack up another loss, but he actually beat Hunter as he should have. There wasn't much to the match. Him against Lev was total throwaway, too. Gaagz the Gymp interfered for the disqualification. Once Smalls came out, it was obvious he'd win in fluky fashion, and although that's exactly what happened, it was done in a way where Kill wasn't made to look like a total loser. Thom Latimer and NWA Television Champion Bryan Idol def. The Southern Six (Kerry Morton and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion "Thrillbilly" Silas Mason)Not only would this have worked as the main event regardless, having something at stake (the stipulation for Idol's upcoming NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship clash with Mason) made it even more interesting. It was a quality contest with the dissension within Southern Six leading to their loss. We found out immediately afterward that No Disqualification Falls Count Anywhere (aren't there no disqualifications in Falls Count Anywhere matches, anyway?) was the stipulation Idol chose. Overall ShowI don't believe it was announced when Mason and Idol will meet for the world title, but I imagine it will be on the sooner side. On the whole, this was a thumbs-up edition of Powerrr, carried by the opening segment and the main event. I didn't care much for Kill's open challenges or the six-man tag team match, but the two title matches gave the show some more significance.
