Alex Misery vs. Gaagz the Gymp in a Hair vs. Mask Match Ended in a No Contest

When I saw this advertised, I can't say I gave two shits because anything Gaagz is involved in tends to be total throwaway, but they actually exceeded ​my expectations with a well-worked match. The stipulation also helped make it more meaningful, but then we get the terrible finish with Misery and Gaagz both attacking referee Joe Ocasio (why was he reffing?), causing the contest to be thrown out. I guess they'll be joining forces, which is very lame. Just get Gaagz the hell off Powerrr, please.

Money Birds def. Ms. Starr and Tiffany Nieves

It continues to be comical to me that the NWA does more with its women's tag team divisions than WWE and TNA combined, and it's not as if this is the deepest division, either. Case in point, I assumed this would be a straightforward showcase for Starr and Nieves, but it turned into a competitive contest and I was pleasantly surprised when Money Birds picked up the upset victory. Hopefully Money Birds stick around and eventually challenge for the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship.

Frank def. Max the Impaler in a Dane Memorial Heavyweight Tournament Quarterfinal Match

If the commentary team didn't acknowledge it, I honestly would've never known that Frank was Judais. He has a new manager, a new look and a new name. There was zero explanation for why he's been repackaged and left The Miserably Faithful, but at least he's away from that awful group. This was fine for what it was, but the only reason it went on last was because it was a tournament match. I'm surprised Max was eliminated so early.

Overall Show

The NWA has leaned heavily into the cinematic stuff the last two weeks and that's not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it's more interesting than anything else they've done with their product in ages, so I welcome the change. Each of them on this episode were a little long, but they were very well shot. This was a quality edition of Powerrr on the whole and I'm looking forward to seeing what more they do on the production side of things.
