The Good Brothers def. Zyon and Bonez in a Crockett Cup Opening Round Match

Zyon and Bonez were a bit of a random team, but the Crockett Cup always has a few of those. They were basically warm bodies for Good Brothers to beat. The match wasn't anything special, but with it being the opening round, it didn't need to be. Good Brothers cut a promo afterward declaring that they'll win the entire tournament, and honestly, they have to be considered the frontrunners.

Damian Fenrir def. Will Austin

Fenrir continues to be showcased in these junior heavyweight exhibitions, and to his credit, he's been impressive. Austin had a solid showing as well, but this was more about Fenrir and giving him another win. The only issue is that we haven't heard from him on the mic much, if at all. Having him cut promos would make him feel like more of a potential championship challenger.

Bryan Idol Saved Colby Corino from The Southern Six

Corino has been cutting promos on this show for many months, and although it's been nice to hear from him and get updates on his road to recovery, a lot of these promos have been too similar. They've also ended the same with Southern Six confronting him. I'm sure these segments are leading to him working with them once he's ready to return, but he doesn't need to be featured so frequently if he isn't able to get physical.

The Colons def. Red White & JAC'd in a Crockett Cup Opening Round Match

Red White & JAC'd is a cool name for the new team of Wrecking Ball Legursky and JAC. Granted, they didn't advance here (The Colons are an actual team so them moving on made more sense) but I hope Legursky and JAC stick together despite the loss. The match was decent and Red White & JAC'd showed quality chemistry together before falling short.

Carson Bartholomew Drake def. Chico Adams

It's strange that almost everyone in Aron Stevens' stable is currently a champion except for Drake, who is a former NWA Television Champion. I doubt he'll end up winning the Crockett Cup, either, but at least we found out Stevens' stable will have two tandems taking part. Nonetheless, this was a pretty standard squash for Drake and it didn't overstay its welcome.

Kylie Paige def. Haley J

Okay, so the story to set up this match with Paige accusing Haley's dog of crapping backstage after stepping in it wasn't exactly riveting, but it was better than nothing as it made it more meaningful, especially as the main event. I also appreciated that they worked with a sense of urgency. They had a good, hard-hitting bout and I wouldn't be surprised to see the feud continue.

Overall Show

The Crockett Cup kicking off means that will mostly take center stage in the coming months, but there's some other stuff going on as well to balance it out. This edition of Powerrr had a bit of both and ended up being average. Everything seemed to serve a purpose except that segment with Corino, which was more of the same. All in all, this show was a perfectly fine effort.
