NWA Powerrr Review - May 1, 2026

AJPW World Tag Team Champions Titans of Calamity def. Jack N' Eddie, Death Row Militia, and Devastation Reborn in a Four-Way Tag Team Match to Earn the No. 16b Seed in the Crockett Cup (Non-Title)

I was wondering what happened to Talos when he randomly disappeared from NWA programming a while ago and Daisy Kill started appearing on his own. Apparently he formed Titans of Calamity with Ren Ayabe and captured tag title gold over in Japan. I actually like his dynamic with Ayabe way more than the dynamic he had with Kill. This match was extremely quick, but Titans of Calamity made the most sense to go over.

AJPW World Tag Team Champions Titans of Calamity Sins N' Grin to Earn the No. 16 Seed in the Crockett Cup (Non-Title)

Despite Sins N' Grin being the fresher duo, Titans of Calamity still picked up the victory and I'm glad they did. It would've been silly for a team that holds the AJPW World Tag Team Championship to not compete in the Crockett Cup. This wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but it was what it needed to be. Titans of Calamity would go on to face The Immortals in the first round of the Crockett Cup later in the night.

Gisele Shaw def. Tiffany Nieves to Win the NWA Women's Television Championship

Shaw already unsuccessfully challenged Natalia Markova for the NWA World Women's Championship, but it was nice to see her back challenging for the Women's Television title. I figured she'd lose so Nieves could reach the Lucky 7, so the outcome was genuinely surprising. Plus, this exceeded my expectations in being a very good match with both women putting forth a strong effort.

AJPW World Tag Team Champions Titans of Calamity def. NWA World Tag Team Champions The Immortals in a Crockett Cup First-Round Match

I assume Titans of Calamity's matches were all taped in the same night, but even if not, they all aired on the same show. Thus, I was going to write that they had an out for falling short here, especially with it being a competitive contest and they wouldn't have lost much in defeat. But they shocked me with the upset win, which was an awesome twist. The reigning NWA World Tag Team champs getting eliminated in the first round was wild, but it gave Titans of Calamity a major boost. I enjoyed the match itself as well.

Overall Show

This was a successful first edition of Powerrr on Comet TV. I dug the video that opened the show as it served as an introduction to the NWA for those unfamiliar and there were plenty of commercials that aired throughout where various members of the roster introduced themselves. In addition to it being a huge night for Titans of Calamity, the NWA Women's Television Championship changed hands, so it turned out to be an above-average episode by Powerrr standards.
