NWA Powerrr Review - May 16, 2026

Carson Bartholomew Drake def. Wrecking Ball Legursky

I feel like we don't see Drake in the ring often enough, so it was nice to get him back in action here against a regular on the roster in Legursky. The match was pretty straightforward stuff, but it was what it needed to be. Eventually, I'd like to see Drake in contention again for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, so this win was another step in that direction.

The Country Gentlemen (KC Cazana and AJ Cazana) def. The Good Brothers in a Crockett Cup Semifinal Match

I didn't make a formal prediction when the tournament got underway, but if I did, I would've said that Good Brothers were going to make it to the finals. Apparently not, but there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's actually a big boost for Country Gentlemen considering all Good Brothers have accomplished in their careers. The two teams had a physical match and made the most of the time they had.

AJPW World Tag Team Champions Titans of Calamity def. The Wrestling Machines in a Crockett Cup Semifinal Match

This was also a hard-hitting affair and it was solid. I continue to be impressed by what I'm seeing from Titans of Calamity, who have been the biggest breakout stars of this year's Crockett Cup and it's not even over yet. Wrestling Machines already have two titles in their ranks, so it wouldn't have made much sense for them to go over the team that's proven to be the most dominant.

NWA World Women's Natalia Markova def. Sirena Veil; Tiffany Nieves def. Markova to Win the NWA World Women's Championship

As I've said before, Veil has been a welcome addition to the NWA's women's division and this was a huge opportunity for her. She and Markova had a quality contest and I thought she looked good in defeat. The post-match angle was well done with Nieves cashing in the title shot she just earned last week and immediately becoming champion. It was very Money in the Bank-esque, but we never see that sort of thing in the NWA, so it felt fresh.

Overall Show

Kicking off the Comet TV era of Powerrr with a bunch of newsworthy matches and moments was a smart call. The Crockett Cup is progressing and it's been fun to follow so far because most of the matchups don't feel overly predictable. This was an above-average episode thanks to everything that happened, with the best part being the main event and the subsequent title change.
