Alex Misery def. Damian Fenrir in an NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchBoth of these guys are impressive prospects and tend to have some of the better matches on Powerrr when they're given the time to do so. This was a quality contest while it lasted and I appreciated that it had something at stake. My only nitpick was the interference from Gaagz the Gymp, who instantly makes me lose interest in anything he's involved in. I'm shocked the character is still a thing at this point. The Wrestling Machines def. The Southern Six (Alex Taylor and Kerry Morton) in a Crockett Cup Quarterfinal MatchI liked the pre-match promo from Southern Six as it established them as the babyfaces in what would have otherwise been a heel vs. heel match. This was good stuff and the outcome could have gone either way. Tension was teased between Morton and Taylor at the end and that was what cost them the victory, so we'll see where that goes. I feel like this is the first sign of dissension within Southern Six's ranks (at least recently). The Country Gentlemen (CJ and AJ Cazana) def. The Colons in a Crockett Cup Quarterfinal MatchThis was another tournament match featuring two teams who I'd call credible, but Country Gentlemen advancing was the correct call. The match itself was fine and pretty much what you'd expect. I believe The Colons have been positioned as heels in the past, but they worked well as the babyfaces in this case. It's nice to see Country Gentlemen make it to the semifinals. Pretty Boy Smooth def. Trevor MurdochEven though Smooth has been feuding with Knox and Murdoch for some time now, I still didn't think this was worthy of the main event spot, but it became clear afterward why this went on last. Smooth went over quickly and decisively (also becoming the first person ever apparently to kick out of Murdoch's finisher) before Murdoch declared himself retired in a post-match promo. I'm glad Murdoch got to have that moment considering how much of a regular he's been in the NWA for the last seven years. Overall ShowPowerrr only aired on Friday night as part of its premiere on Comet TV, and it will be slotted on Saturday afternoons going forward. Although this episode wasn't as eventful as the one we got on Friday, it was still solid for what it was, as it included two tournament matches and a shocking retirement from Murdoch. Hopefully Powerrr being on a bigger platform on Comet TV brings more eyes to the product, and hopefully the NWA holds up their end by keeping the momentum rolling.
