Tiffany Nieves and Reka Tehaka def. La Rosa Negra and Ruthie JayThis was a good match and it gave all four women a chance to show what they can do. I feel like we saw this match not too long ago (a lot of what the NWA does these days blends together because we sometimes go weeks without seeing certain people), but again, it was a quality contest, so I'm not complaining. You'd think this would earn Nieves and Tehaka a shot at the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship. Kyle Davis Interviewed The Southern Six and Pretty EmpoweredKerry Morton and Silas Mason did the talking for Southern Six while Kenzie Paige did the talking for Pretty Empowered. Southern Six talked about wanting to win the Crockett Cup and was basic stuff, but Davis teasing Ella Envy as a potential contender to Paige's NWA World Women's Championship was interesting. They've teased tension within Pretty Empowered before and it didn't amount to anything, so seeing is believing this time. NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Joe Alonzo def. Daman Fenrir (Non-Title)Alonzo didn't win the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship all that long ago, so it's smart to give him some momentum-building wins early on in his reign. His work both in the ring and on the mic has stood out to me for a while, so I'm glad he's getting this opportunity to showcase his skills and he's making the most of it. This was a fairly basic bout, but it accomplished what it needed to. Kyle Davis Interviewed Daisy Kill and Talos and The Slime BallzWe found out that Kill and Talos will be facing a team called The Stew Crew in the first round of the Crockett Cup while Slime Ballz take on Southern Six in the first round as well. This was basic stuff to promote both bouts, but I was more impressed with Kill's promo than Slime Ballz's. In fact, I haven't been impressed by much of anything that Slime Ballz have done in the NWA so far, and they aren't making it past the first round. Knox and Murdoch def. The Miserably Faithful (Gaagz the Gymp and Sal Vation) in a Crockett Cup First-Round MatchI'm just now remembering that Gaagz and Sal feuded with Miserably Faithful for many months last year, only to eventually end up in the group again. What a waste of time that whole thing was. How that stable is still a thing, I have no idea. Thankfully, Knox and Murdoch mostly dominated this match. Miserably Faithful had a flurry of offense down the stretch, but Knox and Murdoch advanced as they should have. Eric Smalls Attacked Aron StevensThis started out as Stevens being interviewed by Davis only for Smalls to show up and hit Stevens with a low blow. Would calling this short and sweet be too obvious of a pun? In all seriousness, it was exactly what it needed to be, though I'm not sure why Smalls is sticking around following his mini (no pun intended this time, I promise) feud with The Spectaculars. Stevens can certainly sell for him, so there's that. Tim Storm and Jax Dane def. Looks That Kill in a Crockett Cup First-Round MatchI guess the NWA isn't afraid to do some intergender wrestling with Natalia Markova teaming with Bryan Idol in the Crockett Cup. Granted, she didn't do much here, but she held her own whenever she was in there. It was a decent main event and Storm cheating to win was the focal point. He was the ultimate babyface a few years ago, but I'm all for him doing some different alongside Dane, who obviously excels as a heel. Overall ShowThere were more interviews and promos on Powerrr this week than usual, and it actually reminded me of the early days of Powerrr from late 2019 in that way. They all effectively hyped upcoming matches in the first round of the Crockett Cup (except for that strange segment with Stevens and Smalls). None of the matches were anything special, but each of them served a purpose. All in all, it was a solid show by Powerrr standards and it's cool that they're trying to make the Crockett Cup feel important as possible.
