Kyle Davis Interviewed The Southern SixThis was a logical follow-up to Kerry Morton nearly costing Silas Mason the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship last week. We only heard from Mason and Alex Taylor, so I like that they're keeping viewers in suspense with Morton's explanation. It was a solid segment. The dissension within Southern Six feels like the top story in the NWA right now and I'm looking forward to seeing it play out. Pretty Boy Smooth def. Mike KnoxSmooth previously beat and basically retired Trevor Murdoch a few weeks ago, so it made sense for Murdoch to want some revenge on Smooth. Granted, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary about their match, but it was serviceable. I'm glad they're capitalizing on whatever momentum Smooth has at the moment by having him rack up wins against NWA regulars. NWA Women's Television Champion Gisele Shaw vs. Sirena Veil Ended in a Time-Limit DrawVeil just unsuccessfully challenged Natalia Markova for the NWA World Women's Championship, so it was rather random for her next match to be for the NWA Women's Television Championship. Despite that, I thought she had another impressive outing. Shaw is the perfect person to be holding that title at the moment. What we got prior to the lame time-limit draw was decent, but hopefully they have a chance to run it back at some point. Alex Taylor def. Axton RayTaylor was interviewed on Carson Bartholomew Drake's (pre-taped) talk show right before this, where he attempted to offer more insight into Morton's actions from last week. Between that, the opening segment and this match, we got a lot of Taylor on this show. This was a standard showcase for him and it didn't last much longer than it needed to. Perhaps he's being built up for an eventual encounter with Morton? The Country Gentlemen (KC and AJ Cazana) def. The Immortals to Win the NWA World Tag Team ChampionshipCountry Gentlemen had a hell of a run in the Crockett Cup by making it all the way to the finals before losing. What's weird is that Titans of Calamity, who did win the Crockett Cup, also knocked off The Immortals in the opening round, so if anyone should have gotten this title shot, it should've been them. Hopefully this is leading to Titans of Calamity eventually dethroning Country Gentlemen. Regardless, this was a good main event and a surprising title change to cap off the episode. Overall ShowI appreciated how the first post-Crockett Cup edition of Powerrr featured a title change in the main event, establishing that viewers should continue tuning into the show going forward and sending the message that anything can happen. This was a thumbs-up episode and I'm digging the Southern Six drama. Markova vs. Gretta and Mims vs. Carnage were among the matches announced for next week.
