NWA Television Champion Max the Impaler vs. Carson Bartholomew Drake Ended in a Time-Limit DrawDrake adding Bartholomew to his name must mean he's in line for a big push. I kid, I kid. He has been featured pretty consistently as of late, so it wasn't too surprising to see him challenge for the Television title here. Unfortunately, it wasn't much of a match as Drake attempted to avoid Max for a majority of it until the time ran out, so that was lame. Drake bragged afterward that Max couldn't beat him, so I assume it isn't over between them. Jax Dane def. Zyon in a Submission MatchI don't know why the Submission stipulation was necessary for this match as I don't think Dane and Zyon have had enough of an issue with each other to justify it. I'm also not sure who was supposed to be the babyface here. This was incredibly slow, plodding and boring. Dane wins, but who cares? I guess he's the more bearable of the two, but I can't imagine this victory will amount to much for him. NWA National Champion Mims def. Sodapop (Non-Title)I love that Mims has gotten more aggressive since turning heel because it's the character development he desperately needed. This was essentially a showcase for Mims as it should have been and it didn't last longer than it needed to. I'm glad Burchill didn't cost Mims the win because that would've been silly. That said, it does look like Burchill is next up for a shot at the strap. NWA World Tag Team Champions Knox and Murdoch def. Jake Powers and Christian HunterPerhaps Powers and Hunter did something in their own promotion to earn this opportunity, but if they did, that wasn't made clear on commentary. Rather, this was a random match with the tag titles just so happening to be on the line. They had a solid showing, but this was all about Knox and Murdoch and giving them a decisive win as champs. I don't know what this was supposed to accomplish other than reminding viewers that Knox and Murdoch are a dominant duo. NWA United States Tag Team Champion AJ Cazana def. Tommy RantI don't remember this version The Country Gentlemen being heels before now, but they cemented their status as heels here with the other members getting involved and Cazana cheating to win. The match itself was decent, but I liked that they did that because it establishes an issues between Country Gentlemen and The Slime Ballz and builds to a possible championship clash. The Southern Six ("Thrillbilly" Silas Mason and Kerry Morton) def. Kyle Davis and Colby CorinoI appreciated how this was built up in advance with Southern Six bullying Davis and Corino coming to his aid. I've actually never seen Davis wrestle before and I thought he played his role well here. He tried to get some offense in but was ultimately overpowered by Mason. Corino and Davis fought valiantly, but Southern Six going over was the right call. There was chaos to close the show with Bryan Idol coming to the aid of the babyfaces and Joe Galli getting up from the commentary desk to potentially help out as well. That was a nice touch. Overall ShowWhen has Powerrr ever featured six matches? I'm sure it's happened before, but it's certainly not common, especially when the runtime isn't any different than it normally is. However, the amount of matches didn't make this episode any weaker. In fact, it felt like there was more meaningful stuff than usual, specifically toward the end. The first two matches were whatever, but the show recovered well from that point forward.
