Carson Drake def. Bryan IdolDrake has been making more and more appearances on Powerrr lately, but I still feel like we know little about him outside one interview segment he was a part of several weeks ago. That's why it's difficult to care about him as a character, but in the ring, he can hold his own. This was an adequate outing between him and Idol with the win giving him a much-needed credibility boost. Haley J and Tiffany Nieves def. Pretty EmpoweredHaley is best known for her work with OVW and appearances on that Wrestlers series that aired on Netflix last year. I'm honestly shocked the NWA didn't try to bring her in earlier. She has star potential and is a quality addition to the NWA's women's division if she is here to stay. This was a solid match and Haley pinning Kylie Paige should mean that she's next in line to challenge for the NWA World Women's Championship. Southern Six Attacked Kyle Davis and Colby CorinoThe mic work from Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor was fine, but I thought Silas Mason especially shined while addressing Corino during his portion of the interview. They had a great match last week, so I'm glad that's seemingly continuing. Plus, I can't recall Davis ever getting laid out before, so that was well done. Apparently Davis and Corino will be facing Mason and Morton in a tag team matchup on next week's show. Spencer Slade def. BozSlade is obviously a serviceable wrestler, but he's been incredibly bland from a character standpoint so far, so hopefully he can develop more of a personality soon. This was a pretty standard showcase for him, and although there wasn't anything remotely interesting about it, at least it didn't overstay its welcome and was instead kept relatively short and sweet. NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Thom Latimer Addressed EC3EC3 cut a very good pre-taped promo earlier in the year addressing his loss of the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship and how he wants the belt back. Latimer's response was basic yet what it needed to be to set up the eventual rematch. They've never had the strongest in-ring chemistry, so I have zero desire to see them go at it again, but I know it makes sense from a storyline standpoint. NWA Television Champion Max the Impaler def. Mr. GrimWe've seen Grim in action a few times in the NWA, but similar to Drake, he's another guy I know next to nothing about. This match came out of nowhere as it was never explained what Grim did to earn this opportunity. Thankfully, Max plays their role well and destroyed Grim in a matter of minutes. It wasn't a complete squash, but it was largely a decisive victory for Max as it should have been. The Immortals def. Blunt Force Trauma in a Liberty Bell BrawlThis was a rematch of the Liberty Bell Brawl these teams had at the NWA 76 taping. The finish to the original encounter was botched, so I understood why they would run it back here to erase any doubt that The Immortals were the superior tandem, despite the stipulation being silly. I liked the last match more, but this was decent enough and didn't eat up too much time. Overall ShowThe NWA 76 taping has officially finished airing and now we're back in the usual setting for Powerrr, which will be a nice change of pace for a while. They packed plenty of stuff into this episode and it was a mixed bag. A few matches happened for no reason, but everything was passable and there was some setup for future matches. The Southern Six segment was the highlight of the night for me.
