NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion and NWA United States Tag Team Champion Alex Taylor def. Rich SwannTaylor already being one-half of the NWA United States Tag Team Champions increases the chances of him possibly losing the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship every time he defends it. Swann has to be the biggest challenger he's had yet, so that added to the unpredictability of the outcome. This was a good match from these two. I'm curious if this was always meant to be a short stint for Swann or if he'll be sticking around in the NWA. The Colons def. The Slime Ballz, Blunt Force Trauma, and Nightmare Syn in an NWA World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's Four-Way Tag Team Elimination MatchNightmare Syn consisted of Frank and Zyon. I believe they were eliminated during the commercial break, so they were a total non-factor here. Coming out of the commercial break, Aron Stevens turned on Blunt Force Trauma and caused them to get eliminated. The commentators acted shocked, but it makes sense to me if Stevens is going to be aligned with Carson Bartholomew Drake (and Slime Ballz) by association going forward. I'm glad the portion between The Colons and Slime Ballz got some time and it was well wrestled. The Colons winning was the correct outcome. Kyle Davis Interviewed Da PopePope said he wasn't cleared to compete after being attacked, but it absolutely looks like he's headed for a rematch with Mims where the NWA National Championship will be on the line. This was a simple and effective promo to build toward that and it worked so well because talking is Pope's strong suit. I was just surprised to not see Mims show up and interrupt him. NWA Television Champion Bryan Idol def. Joe OcasioOcasio is apparently from the area according to the commentators, so he had an advantage in that respect. Otherwise, he hasn't been involved in anything notable on Powerrr in the past, so I didn't take him seriously as a real threat to the title here. Despite that, he and Idol made the most of the time they had and delivered a perfectly solid match with the win getting Idol another step closer to cashing in on the Lucky 7 Rule. Overall ShowThis edition of Powerrr marked the kickoff of the NWA 71 taping, so we should be seeing some more significant stuff in the weeks ahead. This was an easy thumbs-up episode with championship matches bookending it, Pope furthering his feud with Mims, and new number one contenders to the NWA World Tag Team Championship being crowned. Kerry Morton vs. Alexander Hammerstone was among the matches announced for next week.
