NWA Powerrr Review - October 22, 2024

The Country Gentlemen def. The Slime Ballz, The Fixers, and Daisy Kill & Talos in a Four-Way Tag Team Match to Win the NWA United States Tag Team Championship

I maintain that the NWA United Tag Team Championship are unnecessary with the NWA's tag team division having very little depth (especially since the belts were already unified with the NWA World Tag Team Championship and there was zero reason to reverse that), but to the credit of everyone involved, this was a fun four-way match. It was nicely paced and all four teams had some time to shine.

Eric Smalls vs. Rolando Freeman in the Family Jewels Finale Ended in a No Contest

This feud between Smalls and Freeman feels like it's been going on forever. I'm not even sure what a "Family Jewel Finale" is supposed to be seeing as how this was largely a regular match. Spencer Slade got involved and a dude named Mr. Grim helped out Smalls, but there wasn't a decisive ending. Please don't tell me this is continuing. This was fine, but I personally didn't care.

The It Girls def. The King Bees to Win the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship

King Bees have done well as NWA World Women's Tag Team Champions over the last several months, but the titles had to change hands at some point because there are only so many teams they can defend against. Ella Envy and Miss Starr made sense as the team to beat them. It was a solid match, but the finish didn't look too convincing. I liked that this was what closed the show because it put the spotlight on the women.

Overall Show

The NWA United States Tag Team Championship means very little, but that match exceeded my expectations and the title change was notable. The NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship main event was well wrestled and also ended in a title change. The bizarre match between Smalls and Freeman was weak, but the rest of the episode was another quality installment from the NWA 76 taping.
