Natalia Markova def. Kelsey HeatherMarkova has gotten so many title shots over the years and has lost every single one of them that it's difficult to keep track of when she's number one contender and when she's not. Regardless, this was a random match that existed just to give her a spotlight win. It was essentially an extended squash that thankfully didn't overstay its welcome with Markova going over decisively. Colby Corino def. JACThis was similar to the opener in that it was designed to give Corino a victory to get him back on track, except that it was better wrestled. These two had a nice sprint in the time they were allotted and I thought JAC had a solid showing. Corino was doing strong work in the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship picture not too long ago, so I hope that's where he's headed again. Father James Mitchell Confronted Aron Stevens and Carson Bartholomew DrakeWe've been hearing a lot from Stevens and Drake in various vignettes on this show as they seem to have forged an alliance following Drake's loss of the NWA Television Championship and his failure to win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. I guess we're getting a rivalry with the managers? Uhm, okay. We don't get enough in-ring promos on this show anymore, so this was refreshing in that sense, but it wasn't all that strong of a segment. NWA World Women's Champion Kenzie Paige def. Karissa RiveraRivera is the former Elektra Lopez from WWE. She was released earlier this year. She definitely wasn't among the best workers in that women's division, but she did improve over time and it was cool to see her get a chance to show what she can do here in such a prominent spot with the NWA World Women's Championship on the line. We'll see if she sticks around. They had a decent match, but the outcome never felt like it was truly in doubt. The Country Gentlemen (AJ and CJ Cazana) vs. Tommy Henry and Hunter Drake Ended in a No ContestThis was a battle of the NWA territories, and while that isn't something I personally care about, I appreciated that this had a story. I've seen Drake in action before, but I believe this was the first time I've seen Henry wrestle, and I thought the two of them did well against the much more established team. The non-finish was whatever, but at least they brawled to the backstage area, which isn't something we typically see in the NWA. Overall ShowThe first two matches were fairly inconsequential, but they were perfectly fine for what they were and I understand what purpose they were supposed to serve. The segment with the managers didn't do much for me, but maybe it'll lead to something. The title match and the main event were well worked, so it turned out to be an adequate edition of Powerrr on the whole.
