Matt Cardona Confronted Colby CorinoThe finish of Cardona's Carnyland Gauntlet Battle Royale was shown, which saw Corino last eliminate Spencer Slade. By the virtue of his victory, Corino earned an opportunity at the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship later in the night. His exchange with Cardona (who was clearly the authority figure for the event) was solid. It was rather brief, but at least it established Corino as a sympathetic figure heading into his match with EC3. Natalia Markova def. NWA Unified Television Champion Max the Impaler (Non-Title)Obviously, Markova defends both the NWA Television Championship and the NWA Women's Television Championship and this would have been for the latter title. However, it was announced beforehand that Max decided to invoke the Lucky 7 Rule, which guarantees them a match with Kenzie Paige for the NWA World Women's Championship at NWA 76 (which was taped this past weekend I believe). As a result, this wasn't for the title and that's why they went with the count-out finish. The match was decent, but how many times can Markova challenge for a championship and not win? NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 def. Colby CorinoAs previously noted, Corino was the clear-cut babyface coming into this contest, which is why it was interesting that EC3 ended up cheating to win by pushing the referee into the ropes, which caused Corino to fall from the top turnbuckle down to the mat. The match itself was well worked and one of EC3's better (less boring) title defenses. It was refreshing to see Corino in a top title match for a change after spending the last few years at the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship level. I'd love if this led to a rematch, but I know EC3 is defending (defended?) against Thom Latimer at NWA 76. Knox and Murdoch def. Blunt Force Trauma to Win the NWA World Tag Team ChampionshipFinally! Knox and Murdoch have gotten enough multiple opportunities at the tag titles over the last year and it was about time they won them. Granted, I don't know why The Southern Six haven't entered championship contention yet after winning the Crockett Cup over the summer, but maybe they'll lay claim to a title shot now that Knox and Murdoch have captured them. The match was along the same lines as their previous encounters, but the finish was obviously well done and it got a good reaction from the crowd. Overall ShowThis was labeled the "Back to the Terriorities" edition of Powerrr and apparently it was taped three months ago. I wish there was a quicker turnaround for when this stuff aired. Is it going to be another three months before we see what happened at the NWA 76 event this past weekend? Nonetheless, this was a quality championship-filled show and I liked the change of scenery (a vast improvement over the usual Powerrr setup). Ms. Starr and Ella Envy vs. Pretty Empowered in a Street Fight was announced for next week's show.
