ROH Women's Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo def. Lacey Lane in an ROH Women's Pure Championship Proving Ground MatchWe've seen Purrazzo have a ton of Proving Ground matches since capturing the ROH Women's Pure Championship in December, so this was nothing new, but I did appreciate that she faced someone on the roster in Lane. Lane has been given a number of chances to shine in Ring of Honor and I feel she's fared well for herself in each of her opportunities. She once again fell short here, but she had a solid showing in defeat. ROH World Television Champion Action Andretti def. Boom Harden in an ROH World Television Championship Proving Ground MatchAndretti was shown backstage with The Opps beforehand. I'm still not sure whether he's supposed to be a full-fledged member of the group at this point, but at the very least, he's aligned with them. Much like the opener, this was a standard showcase for the champ. Andretti faced off with The Rascalz afterward, so I assume one of them will soon be challenging Andretti for the ROH World Television Championship. The Rascalz (Myron Reed, Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) def. Tomo Filip, Aaron Solo and Nick ComorotoIf The Rascalz aren't going to hold gold in AEW anytime soon, they may as well win either the ROH World Tag Team Championship or the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. This match existed to allow them to maintain momentum and was exactly what it needed to be by being kept short and sweet. Maybe Reed picking up the victory for his team means he'll be the one fighting for the ROH World Television Championship soon? The Beast Mortos def. Rob VegasThis thing was over almost as quickly as it started. Seeing as how it was basically the fourth consecutive squash match on this show, that was for the best. We did hear from Sammy Guevara in a backstage interview later in the show about how he and Mortos want the ROH World Tag Team Championship back. We also found out that Mortos will challenge Bandido for the ROH World Championship on next week's show. Caprice Coleman Hosted a Sit-Down Interview with "The Bounty Hunter" Bryan KeithNow that Keith is officially on his own again with his former partner Big Bill back in WWE, it was smart to reestablish him and tell viewers what he's all about in the form of a sit-down interview with Coleman, who excels in this role. This offered a great glimpse into who Keith is and why fans should care about him. We'll see if Tony Khan actually does anything with him, but this was a step in the right direction. The Don Callis Family (Brian Cage and RPG Vice) def. Kiran Grey, Joey Martinez and Oxx AdamsThis was along the same lines as the other six-man tag team match from earlier in that it was total domination. Cage seems to have different partners every week, so there's no real consistency with him at the moment, but at least he's winning some matches. The Don Callis Family made it known that their sights are set on tag title gold, though I'm not sure if they meant the regular tag titles or the six-man tag titles. Zayda Steel and ROH Women's World Television Champion Red Velvet def. Viva Van and VertvixenSteel and Velvet split wins with Marina Shafir and Skye Blue last week before facing off in that four-way for the ROH Women's World Television Championship at Death Before Dishonor. I like that their alliance isn't over, but Steel has to go back after the title eventually. This wasn't very interesting as it was obvious Steel and Velvet were going over, but it was well wrestled while it lasted. Bang Bang Gang (Ace Austin and Juice Robinson) def. Tony Nese and Ariya DaivariThis was one of those ROH TV main events where I have no clue what about it justified it going on last. The four guys had a perfectly fine match and I guess Bang Bang Gang are bigger stars than most people who compete on this program, but it was a pretty random bout and the finish was never in doubt. Unless Bang Bang Gang are going after ROH gold in the near future, this didn't seem to serve a purpose. Overall ShowROH once again had an above-average pay-per-view last weekend, and once again, the immediate aftermath was disappointing. This was a bunch of pointless matches thrown together that accomplished very little. I'm well aware that's par for the course with this brand, but putting forth such a lazy effort days removed from an event the caliber of Death Before Dishonor is why ROH can't be taken seriously. Most of this episode felt like a waste of time.
