Ring of Honor Review - December 4, 2025

Komander def. The Beast Mortos by Disqualification

Both guys will be taking part in the Survival of the Fittest match for the ROH World Championship at Final Battle, so this served as a nice preview of that. Both guys are extremely talented, so it was no surprise they kicked off the night on an enjoyable night. Disqualifications are pretty rare in Ring of Honor these days, so I didn't mind getting one here. Sammy Guevara, Bandio and Hechicero also attacked each other afterward, but Blake Christian (the sixth Survival of the Fittest combatant) was nowhere to be found for some reason.

Premier Athletes (Stori Denali, Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese) def. Philly Collins, Marino Tenaglia and Zoey Lynn

Premier Athletes keep racking up victories, for whatever that's worth. It's clear they want to put over Denali as a dominant force without putting her in matches on her own just yet, but these enhancement six-person tag team matchups have to amount to something eventually. The brief feud with Grizzled Young Veterans and Isla Dawn served its purpose, but I'm ready for what's next.

Sidney Akeem def. Rosario Grillo

Akeem's ROH appearances are fairly infrequent, so I'd be interested to know he's signed to a deal or not. He has quality matches any time he appears, but more mic time would allow viewers to get invested in him. This was basically a showcase for him and it was fine while it lasted, but I'm not sure why this was slotted on the go-home show for Final Battle unless he ends up on the Zero Hour pre-show.

Dalton Castle and The Outrunners def. Jake Omen, Ashton Adonis and Josh Crane

You can take what I said about Premier Athletes earlier and apply it to Castle and The Outrunners, who keep winning six-man tag team matches but have yet to be put in contention for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. This was nothing new, but at least Castle will be at Final Battle challenging Ricochet for his newly-won AEW National Championship. Speaking of Ricochet, he and GOA laid out Castle and The Outrunners afterward.

The Death Riders (Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta) def. Damien and Damon Reel

We get enough of Death Riders on AEW TV that I have no desire to see them represented on ROH TV as well, but here we are. Much like most of the other matches on this show, this was nothing out of the ordinary. Worse yet, this was a waste of time unless Garcia and Yuta end up having some sort of an unannounced role on the pay-per-view. With any luck, they won't.

AEW TBS Champion and ROH Women's World Television Champion Mercedes Mone def. Lovely Miss Larkan (Non-Title)

This marked the official ROH debut of Mone before she faces Red Velvet in a rematch for the ROH Women's World Television Championship at Final Battle. This was a great get for ROH TV, especially since I don't expect her to lose the belt back to Velvet and not make many appearances on ROH TV after that. Realistically, she should so she can start losing all of the belts she's collected over the last year, but I'm not holding my breath. This was a straightforward squash as it should have been.

Billie Starkz def. Yuka Sakazaki in an ROH Women's Pure Championship Tournament Semifinal Match

It was established in a backstage segment right before this that Queen Aminata had to forfeit her semifinal match to Deonna Purrazzo due to injury, so Purrazzo will now face Starkz in the tourney finals on Friday night. The finish to this felt flat, but it was an otherwise solid main event. Starkz was already the inaugural ROH Women's World Television Champion, so fingers crossed Purrazzo goes over at the event, not to mention she'd be the perfect fit for it.

Overall Show

This show didn't accomplish anything that Tuesday's edition of ROH TV didn't accomplish already other than making the finals for the ROH Women's Pure Championship Tournament official. The opener and the main event were obviously the highlights, but they weren't enough to make up for the filler in the middle. Needless to say, this was a weak go-home show, but I'm sure Final Battle will deliver as always.
