Blake Christian def. Adam PriestPriest just got destroyed by The Beast Mortos on last Saturday's Collision, so it was weird to see him have a competitive contest with Christian, who's in the process of being built up with a string of wins. Needless to say, this should have been significantly shorter because it doesn't make Christian at all look like a threat when he's struggling to beat an enhancement talent. The outcome was the correct one, but that's about it. Preston Vance and Griff Garrison def. Eli Theseus and Gabriel AerosCole Karter appeared on stage with Garrison, but it's possible he may not be cleared yet. Vance is an upgrade of a partner, but it's a downgrade for Vance, who previously was with LA Faccion Ingobernable. It's worth noting that Maria Kanellis-Bennett is no longer with AEW/Ring of Honor, so apparently Jacked Jameson will be their new manager. Uhm, okay. This was another match that should've been a squash and wasn't very interesting. Lee Johnson def. Jon DavisThe commentators mentioned that Davis has history in ROH, but I'm not familiar with him whatsoever. Maybe that's why this lasted as long as it did, but I still say this should've been a straightforward showcase for Johnson (and he also shouldn't have needed help from EJ Nduka to beat Davis). Johnson earned an ROH World Television Championship opportunity by outlasting current champ Komander on last week's episode, so this kept his momentum rolling. ROH Women's World Champion Athena def. Carolina Cruz in an ROH Women's World Championship Proving Ground MatchThis marked Athena's return to ROH TV following her tour of Japan. It reminded me that her storyline with Billie Starkz is still a thing and that there's seemingly no end in sight. I just can't bring myself to care at this point. The best part about this was that Athena showed great intensity and put Cruz away rather quickly. We've been seeing the same stuff from Athena for ages and she's in desperate need of a change of scenery. ROH World Tag Team Champion Sammy Guevara def. MansoorDustin Rhodes has been a regular on AEW TV as of late while Guevara has been relegated to ROH TV despite the two of them being the ROH World Tag Team Champions. I prefer Rhodes over Guevara, but shouldn't that be the other way around? At least we now know who might be next in line for the tag titles. Granted, Mansoor lost here, but MxM Collection did stand tall afterward. It was a good match for what it was. ROH Women's World Television Champion Red Velvet def. Robyn RenegadeIt has long been rumored that there have been pitches for The Renegades to join Mercedes Mone as her encourage, but obviously, that has yet to materialize. The Renegades have always been positioned as heels to my knowledge, so I don't know who the crowd was supposed to cheer for in this scenario (or what Renegade did to earn a title shot), but it was a fine match, nonetheless. The Outrunners def. Grizzled Young Veterans, The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno), and Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari) in a Four-Way Tag Team MatchThe Outrunners are the most popular act in ROH by a pretty wide margin, so it's smart to capitalize on their reactions by having them win more matches. The question is whether these wins are leading to them challenging for the ROH World Tag Team Championship because that should be the endgame. All four of these teams had solid showings and it was easily the best bout of the night. Overall ShowFor the first time in a long time, there wasn't a replay of an old match this week. You could've gotten rid of one or two of the enhancement matches to get the show under an hour, but I'll take a 75-minute episode over the ones that were closer to 90 minutes or two hours. It was cool to see AEW back at Daily's Place for Collision last month, but I get no nostalgia from ROH TV taping there. If anything, it made this show feel like a 2020 episode of Dark and that's not a compliment. This was passable albeit fairly dull on the whole.
