Grizzled Young Veterans def. Spanish Announce ProjectGrizzled Young Veterans will face Eddie Kingston and Ortiz on Saturday's Maximum Carnage edition of Collision, so this was meant to be a warm-up of sorts for them before then and I'm glad they beat people who are actually on the active roster (even though Spanish Announce Project is the ultimate enhancement team). Speaking of Kingston and Ortiz, they made the save for Spanish Announce Project afterward. Lance Archer def. Vin ParkerAnother week, another pointless Archer squash match. These squashes lost whatever appeal they used to have a long, long time ago. He has a presence in The Don Callis Family most weeks, but it's not like he ever wins anything of note. The best thing I can say about this is that it was kept short and sweet. Otherwise, this was a waste because it's bound to amount to nothing. ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Shane Taylor def. Kiran GreyGrey recently popped up on Collision for a match against Sammy Guevara. He was beaten in a matter of minutes, so I didn't expect this to go much differently. Sure enough, he was squashed here as well. Taylor took his time putting him down, which is the only reason this lasted as long as it did. If Taylor's not being built up for anything on his own, though, I don't know what purpose this was supposed to serve. QT Marshall, Aaron Solo and The Von Erichs def. The Frat House (Jacked Jameson, Cole Karter, Griff Garrison and Preston Vance)You know The Von Erichs are directionless when they're involved in a match with Marshall, Solo and Frat House. Good lord. That isn't to say there wasn't anything necessarily wrong with this from an in-ring standpoint, but it felt like filler because Solo and Frat House are lower-card losers and Marshall is only relevant when he's teaming/facing Big Boom! A.J. This wasn't exactly a stellar showcase for whatever tag team division Ring of Honor has at the moment. The Infantry def. MxM CollectionBoth of these teams are heel the last time I checked, so the dynamic was weird. I guess MxM Collection were babyfaces by default, and at the very least, it's not a match we've seen what feels like a million times (to my knowledge, anyway). It was serviceable stuff and it had the correct outcome. Really, that's about it because I don't see this turning into something more with the two tandems. ROH Women's World Television Champion Red Velvet def. Robyn Renegade in an ROH Women's World Television Championship Proving Ground MatchAs I feared would be the case, Velvet beat Mercedes Mone for the Women's World Television title in a huge upset at Final Battle a month ago and there's been zero follow-up. Okay, so she's racked up some wins, but nothing remotely as impressive and we still don't know who will be first to step up and challenge her. Renegade wasn't much of a threat, either, so this was pretty much a throaway match. The Swirl def. The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno)Yes, the grand main event on such a stacked edition of ROH TV was The Swirl clashing with two members of Dark Order. Yes, that entire sentence was written sarcastically. It was a fairly basic bout with the obvious result. The build to Blake Christian challenging Bandido for the ROH World Championship one-on-one is taking forever and what they're doing in the meantime isn't interesting. If nothing else, like last week's main event with them, this put more heat on the heels. Post-match, they attacked Dark Order before Adam Priest and Tommy Billington fended them off. Overall ShowThankfully, this show was only a little over an hour long. It wasn't as unbearable as other episodes that were longer, but very little (if anything) was accomplished, rendering the show irrelevant. I simply don't understand what audience Tony Khan wants this weekly product to appeal to because it's most of the same names and all of them are spinning their wheels in meaningless matches. It's wrestling for the sake of wrestling and nothing more.
