The Outrunners def. The WorkhorsemenI always forget about The Workhorsemen being a part of Ring of Honor's tag team division because it feels like one of them is always hurt. Hopefully they can stay healthy because they're a talented team. This was a good match and The Outrunners was the right outcome, especially coming off their second straight loss to FTR on the All In Zero Hour pre-show. I'm still shocked they have yet to challenge for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. The Beast Mortos def. SerpenticoAs ROH's lovable loser, it makes sense for Serpentico to score more offense than an enhancement guy or girl that isn't even under contract to the company, so I didn't have an issue with him lasting for a few minutes against a monster in Mortos. They told the David vs. Goliath story well and Mortos went over decisively. It's been cool to see Mortos get featured more prominently on AEW TV recently, specifically in the Dynamite main event. Lee Johnson and Blake Christian def. David Ali and Isiah MooreJohnson and Christian work well together, but the problem is that they never win when it matters most, so it's difficult to take them seriously in meaningful singles matches. That said, why not make them more of a mainstay in the tag team division? This was a fun showcase for them, and I'd like to see them work with the other talented teams ROH has to offer. They'll probably have better luck there than in the ROH World Television Championship or ROH Pure Championship scenes. Trish Adora def. Aleah JamesJames faced Athena in a non-title match last August on ROH TV. For those who don't remember, she was once a part of WWE's NXT UK roster but hasn't done much in a major promotion since then. This was basically an extended squash for Adora, though I'm not sure why it existed since there's been zero update on when this supposed ROH Women's Pure Championship Tournament is taking place. ROH World Television Champion Nick Wayne def. Gringo Loco in an ROH World Television Championship Proving Ground MatchWayne is going to get more heat going forward now that he's betrayed Christian Cage. There wasn't much to this match since it was so brief, but it was decent while it lasted and there was no reason for it to be any longer than it was. Wayne winning with the Killswitch was a nice touch, too. Unless Christian is going to beat Wayne for the ROH World Television Championship (which he won't), I'd take the title off Wayne soon so it's not wrapped up in this rivalry where it isn't the focal point. Overall ShowROH TV has been following a much simpler format as of late and I approve. The shows are shorter and a lot easier to get through, though the matches themselves are fairly inconsequential. The pay-per-views consistently deliver, while ROH TV isn't really worth tuning into. It is what it is at this point, but I'll take any episode that's under an hour over those marathon shows we were getting before.
