Hook def. Nick ComorotoHook getting squashes on ROH TV is comical because it must mean he's mostly fallen out of favor with Tony Khan on AEW TV. Yes, The Opps still exist in Samoa Joe's absence, but barely, and Hook's stock has plummeted in the past year. But they'll still build him up with wins that don't matter for some reason. This was a standard showcase for Hook. Yes, Comoroto is bigger than Hook, but Hook beating him wasn't all that impressive. BEEF and Premier Athletes def. Keagan Garland, LJ Cleary and Aaron DallasDidn't Premier Athletes already attempt to team with BEEF but bailed on him? I might be misremembering, but I'm almost positive that happened recently (most of these shows blend together for me). If so, why would BEEF want to team with them again? Either way, he won here and that must be enough for him to continue teaming with them. The match was fine. They announced in a backstage segment later on that they intend to fight for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. Maya World and Hyan def. Robyn Renegade and Trish AdoraWorld can't become just another competitor in Ring of Honor coming off her stellar showing in the women's Owen Hart Cup. She beat Athena in the semifinals, so therefore, she should be next in line for an ROH Women's World Championship opportunity. Renegade and Adora were such a random pairing that you knew they weren't winning here, but it was a perfectly passable match, regardless. Action Andertti def. Alex ReynoldsAndretti debuted a new entrance here where you hear him say "Lights, camera, action" right before his music hits. I don't know how I feel about it yet, but it seems cheesy. Anyway, this was a pretty basic bout to give Andretti another win as he heads toward a singles match against Lio Rush. Speaking of whom, Andretti was scared off by him afterward. John Silver also came to Reynolds' aid, so we might see Andretti vs. Silver soon. Anthony Ogogo def. Kiran Grey by Referee StoppageThese occasional squashes for Ogogo are so bizarre to me because it's not like they ever lead to anything of note. What's worse is that Grey (as he has in the past) came off way cooler than Ogogo during his entrance alone. Why give Grey such an elaborate entrance if he's never going to win? This was fine but needlessly long. Ogogo never really appearing with the rest of Shane Taylor Promotions whenever they're on AEW TV is odd as well. Zayda Steel def. Cassie LeeI believe this marked Lee's first singles match since The IInspiration arrived in AEW and ROH. I was a big fan of her potential as a singles star during her days in WWE, but she hasn't stood out to me whatsoever in the last few years, so I'm not at all surprised Steel defeated her here. It was definitely the right outcome, even if the matchup itself was average at best. El Sky Team (Mistico and Mascara Dorada) def. La Faccion Ingobernable (The Beast Mortos and Sammy Guevara) to Win the ROH World Tag Team ChampionshipThis was filmed at a CMLL event last Friday, hence why El Sky Team had the ROH tag titles with them at Forbidden Door that Sunday. Thus, we knew who was winning before the bout even started, but it was very good, nonetheless. These crowds in CMLL have such amazing energy and it makes any match from there that airs on ROH TV feel like a big deal. There are plenty of other teams who could have dethroned LFI instead, but Mistico and Dorada work wonderfully together, so I don't have an issue with them getting a run with the belts provided they defend the damn things. Overall ShowAlthough 90 minutes is still too long for an edition of ROH TV, it was acceptable in this case due to the main event taking up so much time, and it was an above-average main event at that Needless to say, that was the only match worth checking out from this episode. Everything else was business as usual, which was disappointing coming off the enjoyable Global Wars specials the last two weeks.
