Ring of Honor Review - July 9, 2026

Bang Bang Gang (Ace Austin and Juice Robinson) def. Grizzled Young Veterans

Bang Bang Gang is officially back in full force now that Jay White has returned from injury and the rest of the group is also healthy. We'll see how that affects their standing in Ring of Honor, if at all. ROH has plenty of other teams I'd rather see get pushed toward ROH World Tag Team Championship contention, including Grizzled Young Veterans, but Austin and Robinson are a talented tandem. This was a solid opener.

SkyFlight (Scorpio Sky and Top Flight) def. The Frat House (Jacked Jameson, Griff Garrison and Preston Vance)

Frat House remain channel-changing material for me, much like Iron Savages when they were around (a group also managed by Jameson, go figure). Anyone who beats them doesn't really gain anything, either. This existed to give SkyFlight a victory and that's about it. SkyFlight were in the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship hunt at one point, but they've been floundering ever since.

Bishop Khan def. Royce Isaacs

It's worth noting Isaacs got a televised entrance, probably because he's a member of the New Japan Pro-Wrestling roster. I know he's been there for a few years, but I still remember him from the time he spent in the NWA. Nonetheless, this was all about Khan, who we rarely see in singles competition. I wouldn't mind him getting more opportunities on his own, but time will tell if this was just a one-off.

Mina Shirakawa and Queen Aminata def. Sahara Seven and Kaci Lennox

As I've said before, Shirakawa and Aminata made for a fun team. Granted, I'd prefer to see Aminata doing something more significant (regardless of whether it's in ROH or AEW), not to mention she owns a win over ROH Women's World Television Champion Red Velvet from last month, but I can deal with this in the meantime. They worked well together in what was an adequate outing.

Caprice Coleman Hosted a Sit-Down Interview with Action Andretti

This was overdue for Andretti, who needed a chance to explain his new character a long time ago. He actually came off exceptionally well in this environment as he recapped his history with Lio Rush, explained his ongoing issues with him and even discussed where Lacey Lane fit into their feud. This was exactly the sort of context that the Andretti vs. Rush rivalry needed.

The Lethal Twist (The Swirl and Jay Lethal) def. Serpentico and The Colons

Both of these trios have made it clear in recent weeks that they have their sights set on the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. Serpentico and The Colons have no business being in that conversation, so Lethal Twist winning was the logical outcome. This was pretty pedestrian stuff, but it gets us closer to Lethal Twist challenging Dalton Castle and The Outrunners for the titles.

Mance Warner def. "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard in a Pure Rules Match

I have no idea why this needed to be a Pure Rules match. I also have no idea why Menard is still wasting a roster spot. Nothing against the guy personally, but he's best utilized on the pre-show panels at this point. As a wrestler, he doesn't offer much. The match was whatever, but I assume the idea is that Warner will be fighting for the ROH Pure Championship eventually.

Isla Dawn def. Kelsey Raegan

Although she never got a graphic, I assume Dawn is under some sort of deal to ROH and/or AEW considering how much we've seen of her on ROH TV alone in the last year. She's still not someone whose work I'm overly impressed by, but to her credit, she's making the most of every opportunity she's being given. This served as a straightforward showcase for her.

Satnam Singh def. Bruss Hamilton

This had to have been the best Satnam Singh match I've seen in ages, not because it was a barn burner or anything but because it was competitive. Hamilton was much bigger than your average enhancement dude, so he was able to score some offense before Singh inevitably went over. I still don't understand the purpose of these wins for Singh, but I appreciate that they switched up the tired formula for this one.

The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier) and The Von Erichs def. Nathan Cruz and Il Cartello Grillo

It feels like The Von Erichs' appearances on ROH TV are far and few between these days, as they've been directionless since losing the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. They aren't the best team in the tag division, either, so they seem to be stuck at the moment. On the bright side, they had quality chemistry with The Rascalz here in what was a nice match.

Tehuti Miles def. LSG

I read somewhere that Miles has been under contract to AEW/ROH for many months, which surprised me because I don't ever recall seeing him in action on ROH TV. Well, he can now say he debuted on ROH TV. This was a little bit longer than it needed to be, but it was decent and it got Miles off to a fine start in ROH. Shane Taylor Promotions scouting him afterward was interesting given his military background.

ROH World Champion Bandido def. "Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith

A clip from Bandido and Keith's last meeting on Collision in February 2025 aired earlier in the episode. With Big Bill reportedly gone from AEW and on his way back to WWE, Keith is on his own again and I'm happy about that. Granted, he'll need to be built up again, but this was an encouraging start. He and Keith had an enjoyable encounter, even if the end result was never in doubt.

Overall Show

This episode was nearly two hours long, good lord. Needless to say, that's excessive for a show that wasn't special by any means. At least we had the ROH World Championship defended in the main event, but that's about it. Death Before Dishonor was announced this week for the end of August, but I get the sense ROH TV will keep killing time until then (and beyond).
