ROH Women's World Champion Athena def. La CatalinaCatalina was the latest challenger for Athena to not feel like a legitimate threat to the title whatsoever, but I applaud the effort she put forth here and I appreciated that it was a competitive contest that received an ample amount of time. Although Athena never misses with her title defenses, I'm very much ready for her run to be over and have been for quite a while. Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh def. McCallion and SladeLethal did the Black Machismo gimmick at Final Battle back in December and on the Jericho Cruise edition of ROH TV a few weeks ago, but he was back to being himself here. This marked the first time in many months that he and Singh have teamed up, so we'll see if they start racking up wins or if this was just a one-off to fill some time. It was a total squash for Lethal and Singh. It's worth noting that Slade was under contract to Ring of Honor years ago, but the pandemic prevented him from being brought back. Billie Starkz def. MyloStarkz's recent appearances on AEW TV have been a hell of a lot more interesting than anything she's done on ROH TV so far in 2025. At this point, I couldn't care less if she eventually dethrones Athena for the ROH Women's World Championship (which will be in 2030 at this rate), but I am intrigued by the teases for her facing Mercedes Mone. That could conceivably lead to Mone vs. Athena. As for this match, it was short and sweet stuff to give Starkz a win. ROH World Tag Team Champions The Sons of Texas def. Jon Cruz and Olumide (Non-Title)I'm not sure why certain matches are non-title and others are Proving Ground matches, but it didn't matter in this case either way because there was no chance Cruz and Olumide were winning. Sons of Texas were on offense throughout and won within a matter of minutes, as they should have. MxM Collection attacked them afterward, confirming that feud isn't over yet. The Beast Mortos def. SonicoMortos' string of wins as of late on ROH TV hasn't gone unnoticed. I'm curious if the idea is to build him up for an opportunity at an ROH title again (he previously unsuccessfully challenged for the ROH World Championship last year), or if there are no concrete plans for him and these matches are just to keep him busy while he loses whenever it matters most on AEW TV. At least he largely dominated Sonico here. Thunder Rosa def. Brittnie BrooksRosa just got pinned by Megan Bayne in a tag team match on Wednesday's Dynamite, so this allowed her to bounce back and it was a fairly standard showcase for her. Honestly, I wouldn't mind Rosa being relegated to ROH going forward. She can make the occasional appearance in AEW, but I feel like she'd be better utilized in ROH where she can perhaps hold gold again down the road. In AEW, I don't see getting that opportunity with the stacked women's roster they have now. Gravity and Bandido def. The InfantryFor those unaware (and I forgot myself until a quick search reminded me), Gravity and Bandido are brothers, so them teaming up isn't as random as it appeared on paper. I wasn't fond of them beating The Infantry, who are an actual team and should be in ROH World Tag Team Championship contention, but it was a fun match, nonetheless. Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Bryan Keith attacked Gravity and Bandido afterward after Bill and Keith lost to Bandido and Powerhouse Hobbs on last week's Collision. The Gates of Agony def. Che Cabrera and Bad Dude TitoGates of Agony find themselves in the same spot as a majority of the ROH roster in that they'll win a majority of their matches but never really get anywhere. Along with The Infantry, they should be in the mix for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. On the bright side, Cabrera and Tito have some name value, so this was better than them beating two "local athletes." The match was well worked. Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr. and Dark Panther def. Gran Guerrero, Euforia and ValienteThis was another lucha six-man tag team main event and it was similar to last week's. While there's nothing wrong with that, it would be nice to get more background on some of these guys and why these matches are supposed to matter. The action was enjoyable, so there was that. We did find out that Komander (who was shown standing right behind the barricade) will defend the ROH World Television Championship against Dark Panther on next week's episode. Overall ShowROH TV has been a bit more bearable over the last month or two (not wasting time by replaying old matches has been a plus), but this a weak show with mostly meaningless matches. I like that they're advertising Komander vs. Panther a week out, but other than the post-match attacks from the Learning Tree crew and MxM Collection, not a whole lot else about this episode mattered. Thankfully, it was under 90 minutes, but it could've been even shorter.
