Marina Shafir def. Laynie LuckLuck has competed on AEW TV and ROH TV a number of times over the years, but this was one of her more impressive performers that I can remember. Maybe it wasn't wise for her to score so much offense against someone competing in Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing this year, but I honestly couldn't care less since Shafir bores me to tears, anyway. All in all, this was a glorified squash for Shafir. Blake Christian def. Gringo LocoI continue to find it funny that Christian will lose pretty much every match he has on AEW TV yet win a majority of his matches on ROH TV. He's been "building momentum" for months in Ring of Honor, but I don't get the sense he's being built up for anything. Despite that, the guy's a good athlete, so at least he's been involved in some fun matches like this one. These two had a hell of a showing here. Why can't we get more matches like this on ROH TV? Queen Aminata def. Allysin Kay in a Pure Rules MatchI couldn't help but laugh at Aminata smashing Kay's face straight into her ass, if only because it looked ridiculous. I know she's done that move before, but I think it was Kay's selling of it that made it so stupid. Otherwise, this was a perfectly acceptable outing designed to serve as a preview of the upcoming ROH Women's Pure Championship Tournament. Speaking of which, they announced it weeks ago and a start date has yet to be revealed. I can't say I'm surprised. Atlantis Jr., Neon and Fuego def. Barbaro Cavernario, Volador Jr. and HechiceroThis was no different than the CMLL six-man tag team match on Thursday's Collision or any other episode of ROH TV that has featured one this year. As I always say, these are never bad but rather inconsequential. It'd be great if the winning trio got a shot at the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship, but that would actually require those belts being defended. This was a well-worked main event, but it was more of the same. Overall ShowROH TV was once again bumped to Friday night this week with Collision having to air on Thursday night. It didn't end up making a difference as this was the usual waste of a show. Thankfully, it was around 45 minutes long, so it wasn't as much of a chore to watch as other episodes, not to mention that Christian vs. Loco was a treat. Otherwise, there really is no reason for ROH to exist in its current form.
