Shane Taylor Promotions (ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty, Anthony Ogogo and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Shane Taylor) def. The Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver and Alex Silver)I thought there was a small chance Dark Order would win by pinning Ogogo (who we rarely see wrestle on ROH TV these days) to earn an opportunity at the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship at Final Battle, but thankfully, that didn't happen. This was your standard six-man tag team match. As I've said before, I couldn't care less about Dark Order at this point, but at least their matches are serviceable. The Von Erichs def. Zack Mason and Warren JohnsonThe Von Erichs quickly wrapped up their rivalry with La Faccion Ingobernable after Sammy Guevara betrayed them over the summer, so they've been directionless ever since. Giving them wins in the meantime is a fine way to ensure they maintain momentum (however much momentum that is), but they'll need to start facing actual teams again eventually. This was a solid showcase for them that didn't overstay its welcome. "Dynamite Kid" Tommy Billington, Adam Priest and Jay Lethal def. The Frat House (Cole Karter, Griff Garrison and Jacked Jameson)It was established in a backstage segment right before this that there was some tension between Lethal and Priest because of Lethal costing Priest and Billington a win recently (I honestly don't remember when or against who), but they must have worked past it because they won here. The match was whatever, but it did give Billington and Priest a victory before they challenge Guevara and The Beast Mortos for the now-vacant ROH World Tag Team Championship. Yuka Sakazaki def. Serena Deeb in an ROH Women's Pure Championship Tournament Quarterfinal MatchYes, we only just now got the last quarterfinal match of a tournament that started months ago. The pacing of this thing has been terrible, to the point where they have to do both semifinal matches on next week's ROH TV so they can hold the finals at Final Battle next Friday. What a mess. This was a well-wrestled bout, but I hated the finish because Deeb's foot was clearly on the bottom rope and the blind referee didn't see it. I guess that was designed to protect Deeb in defeat, but the execution still sucked. Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese and Stori Denali def. Exodus Prime, Gino Medina and Charity King)The buildup of Premier Athletes continues, though I'm not sure what the endgame is supposed to be. They're making out Denali to be quite the dominant force, but her overall experience is unknown. They're protecting her in these six-person tag team matches for now, which is probably for the best. This was the usual squash for the trio with Mark Sterling's pre-match promo lasting almost as long as the match itself. The Swirl def. "Main Man" Oro and BEEFBEEF barely wins anything, so the outcome was set in stone before the bell even rang. I've complained a lot about the booking of The Swirl this year (specifically Blake Christian), but for as weird as it was for them to have a random tag team match before Christian takes part in a Survival of the Fittest match for the ROH World Championship at Final Battle, this was taped before it was announced that Rush couldn't compete at Final Battle and thus the main event had to be changed. As you'd expect, this was a fairly average outing with nothing interesting about it. Komander def. MansoorKomander survived a Proving Ground match with Lee Moriarty a few weeks ago and it looked like he'd get his shot at the ROH Pure Championship at Final Battle, but plans changing likely was what resulted in Komander being put in the ROH World Championship main event and Moriarty facing Nigel McGuinness again instead, this time in a 30-minute Iron Man match. At any rate, this was a fun match, even though it wasn't worthy of the main event spot. Overall ShowTony Khan's booking with Ring of Honor when it comes to the build for the pay-per-views is always suspect, but in this case, I can't put too much blame on him because Rush got hurt and he had to shake up the card. A majority of the lineup is now official, so this was a somewhat newsworthy edition of ROH TV from that standpoint. I appreciate it not being a total waste of time despite airing on a holiday weekend.
