Sidney Akeem def. Alex ZayneNeither of these guys are regulars in Ring of Honor at the moment, so the outcome felt genuinely unpredictable. I actually assumed Zayne would win, so I was surprised when Akeem went over instead. Regardless, they had an enjoyable opener for as long as it lasted, though I'm sure it could've been better with more time. We'll see if Akeem continues to make appearances going forward. The Grizzled Young Veterans and Isla Dawn def. Gabriel Aeros, Javi and Carolina CruzGrizzled Young Veterans with Dawn is a bit of a random pairing as I don't recall them ever being aligned during their time in WWE's NXT UK or NXT brands, but they had nice chemistry together here. This was designed to be a simple showcase for them before they battle Premier Athletes, who they were laid out by afterward. I'm glad Premier Athletes are about to get actual competition, even if it's a short-lived feud. Diamante def. Aleah JamesI'm shocked this wasn't a Pure Rules match, but then again, Diamante isn't involved in the ongoing ROH Women's Pure Championship Tournament, so I guess there was no reason for the stipulation. This was perfectly fine and didn't overstay its welcome. I'd love to think that Diamante is about to receive a renewed push, but I can't say I'm optimistic based on her booking in the past. Wheeler Yuta def. "Main Man" OroWhy are Yuta and sometimes Marina Shafir the only members of The Death Riders to wrestle on ROH TV? We already know they're the least interesting parts of the group, so making viewers sit through their meaningless matches feels like a waste of time. This was well wrestled and all, and Oro is impressive, but this didn't really need to exist. We get enough of Yuta on AEW TV. Blake Christian def. Shannon MooreI couldn't tell you the last time I would've seen Moore wrestle. Maybe during his TNA days a decade and a half ago? He's obviously older, but he held his own here in what was a quality contest with Christian. Christian is headed for a shot at Bandido's ROH World Championship, so it makes sense to build him up with wins, even if he doesn't feel like a legitimate threat to the title. The Von Erichs def. The Frat House (Griff Garrison and Cole Karter)This was meant to be a rebound win for The Von Erichs, who recently fell short of beating La Faccion Ingobernable for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. It absolutely wasn't worthy of the main event spot, but I get what purpose it was supposed to serve. It was your average enhancement match with The Von Erichs winning in a matter of minutes. I'm curious where they go from here, though. Overall ShowThe best thing I can say about ROH TV these days is that it's only around an hour and not excessively long like it used to be, but it's still very much a chore to sit through the whole thing. The matches are subpar and whatever storylines we do get move at a snail's pace. There wasn't anything necessarily wrong with this episode, but there's nothing worth seeking out about it, either.
