Shane Taylor Promotions (Trish Adora and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Shane Taylor and The Infantry) def. Demo Diamond, Reiza Clarke, LVJ and Kari Jai Wright

Shane Taylor Promotions feel like the gatekeepers for Ring of Honor in a lot of ways, but they win a fair amount, so they were the right group of people to put in there with the Metroplex Wrestling stars. Mind you, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary about this, but it existed to give us a taste of what the MPX team can do, so it was effective from that standpoint, even though they weren't given a ton of time.

ROH Women's World Television Champion Red Velvet def. Vertvixen in an ROH Women's World Television Championship Proving Ground Match

As I've said before, continuing to book Velvet in Proving Ground matches hasn't been a wise way to capitalize on her win over Mercedes Mone. It's honestly easily to forget she even beat Mone at one point a few months ago. This was well worked and whatnot, but it was essentially more of the same. Velvet desperately needs some sort of storyline because otherwise I'm not sure why the Women's World Television title is a thing.

Big Bill and "Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith def. Phil Shark and Braddah Kaimi

The Shark dude looked like a moron with the stupid shark hat on, but it thankfully wasn't long before it fell off. At any rate, this was every other squash Bill and Keith have had over the last year. I know they'll be taking part in an eight-man tag team Parking Lot Brawl on Saturday's Collision, but they've been spinning their wheels on ROH TV for forever and there's no reason for them to be on the show.

MPX Women's Champion Abadon def. Ray Lyn

Yes, Abadon made a comeback to ROH because she's the reigning MPX Women's Champion. She was never my favorite while she was with ROH and AEW, but this was a nice little homecoming for her. As for Lyn, I've seen her wrestle in various promotions in the past (including ROH), but I didn't think she'd take the title here. This was too short to be anything of note, but at least it was passable.

ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty def. Exodus Prime in an ROH Pure Championship Proving Ground Match

Although they both have a ton of Proving Ground matches, Moriarty is having a better run as Pure champ than Velvet is as Women's World Television champ because at least he defends his belt once in a while. This wasn't one of those instances, though. The match never got beyond a certain level, but what we did get from them was solid and Prime had an impressive showing.

JD Griffey def. Delynn Cavens to Win the MPX Championship

I'm glad they aired highlights of Griffey's previous appearances in ROH while he was making his entrance. I remember him from when Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland were feuding three years ago and him teaming up with Strickland, I believe at Final Battle. It's cool that he won the MPX Championship here, but the crowd didn't sound too familiar with either of them, so the title change didn't come off like a big deal, not to mention the match was rather brief. This getting less time than almost anything else on the show was an odd choice.

Maya World, Hyan and ROH Women's Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo def. Billie Starkz, Diamante and ROH Women's World Champion Athena

Athena is the owner of MPX Wrestling, so her being in the main event of this show was hardly surprising. They saved the best for last, but it's not like that was a very high bar to begin with. This was a good tag team main event. Athena and Starkz teased tension afterward and I can't possibly bring myself to care. I'd much rather Athena feud with (and possibly drop the title to) Purrazzo than Starkz, who just isn't all that interesting to me.

Overall Show

The Global Wars specials tend to be more fun than your average edition of ROH TV, but that was not the case here. Not only am I barely familiar with MPX Wrestling, most of these matches didn't have any buildup, nor did any of them stand out in a major way. This was very much a waste of an episode and only existed to showcase the talent of MPX Wrestling. That's fine, but it didn't make for a very compelling watch.
