The System (JDC and TNA X-Division Champion Moose) def. Trey Miguel and Ace AustinThis stemmed from The System attacking Zachary Wentz backstage at Unbreakable. It'd be cool if Miguel and Austin had to be convinced to team up given their own issues with each other from years ago, but they've since teamed up a handful of times, so I guess we're past that. Nonetheless, this was a quality contest to create the need for a six-man tag team match at Rebellion. Apparently, Miguel and Austin are calling in Sean Waltman for help. I had no idea Waltman still wrestled. Jacy Jane def. RosemaryWait, Rosemary's a babyface now? Didn't she just turn heel not that long ago? At least they're telling a story with her and Xia Brookside, who made the save for her afterward (along with Lei Ying Lee) to set up a six-woman tag team match with them against Fatal Influence for Rebellion. This was a quality contest with Rosemary being outnumbered and Jayne picking up a rare televised win. Tessa Blanchard def. Missa KateKate entered free agency last year after spending some time in the NWA. She's someone I could see being a nice addition to TNA's Knockouts division eventually, but this was all about Blanchard and giving her a decisive victory before she challenges Masha Slamovich for the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Rebellion. Speaking of Slamovich, she emerged afterward to get some revenge on Blanchard. I love how they've made their program more personal by incorporating Slamovich's trainer Johnny Rodz. Elijah and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry def. Frankie Kazarian and Ethan PageThis was a logical match to do with Hendry defending the TNA World Championship against Kazarian and Page at Rebellion and him having an alliance with Elijah. I can't say it was all that exciting (nor did it need as much time as it got), but it was a well-worked bout. I thought the heels might win for a momentum boost, but no such luck. Hendry is "hurt," though, so he will be at a disadvantage in the three-way. Overall ShowYes, there were only four matches on this show. That's because a fair amount of time was spent on replays of Joe Hendry's appearances at WWE WrestleMania and NXT this past week, the ending of Unbreakable, and an entire segment with Nic and Ryan Nemeth invading The Hardy Compound. I enjoy a lot of the Broken Universe stuff, but whatever we got on this show was too silly for my liking and wasted almost 20 minutes. The rest of the episode was serviceable and served some final build for Rebellion this Sunday.
