Frankie Kazarian def. ElijahThis was a logical match to do following the segment these two had with Joe Hendry on last week's episode. Elijah has been teased as a potential challenger for Hendry as of late, so I was surprised to see him lose here, especially in what ended up being a throwaway match. It gave Elijah a cheap win and established some tension between Hendry and Elijah, but this felt like more of an angle than an actual match. The System Attacked Cody DeanerApparently there was a segment last week that was exclusive to TNA Digital (I don't remember it airing or being acknowledged at all) where Eddie Edwards dressed down the rest of The System for their recent shortcomings. Deaner coming out here was random, but it was done to set up him being attacked by Moose. The System hadn't teased any tension whatsoever until that segment, so this felt forced and ended up being a waste of time. I assume Deaner will take part in the Ultimate X match for the TNA X-Division Championship at Rebellion in an attempt to get revenge. The Meta-Four (Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend) def. SpitfireMeta-Four have gelled into a super solid team this past year and it's cool to see them getting a run in TNA's women's tag team scene as well. They had quality chemistry with Spitfire here and that made for a nice match. This wasn't billed as a number one contender's matchup for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship, but I still feel like this is leading to a four-way with Meta-Four, Spitfire, Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley, and Ash and Heather by Elegance for the belts. The Good Hands Interrupted TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys; Hardys def. Good Hands (Non-Title)The Hardys were addressing the audience and specifically the Nemeth brothers attacking them at Sacrifice when they were interrupted by Good Hands, which led to Santino Marella booking an impromptu bout between the two teams where Good Hands would've earned a future shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship had they won. This was a fairly average outing, but the crowd being so behind The Hardys always makes their matches more fun. Santino Marella Announced a TNA International Championship Tournament; Sami Callihan Attacked Mance WarnerAlthough Warner isn't my cup of tea personally, I will say that he's gotten off to a good start in TNA and having Steph De Lander (his real-life girlfriend) as part of his act has helped. I was excited when Marella said that the TNA Digital Media Championship belt they've being carrying around since January was no more, but then he declared that it will be replaced by an International title with a tournament to crown the inaugural champ kicking off at Rebellion (will that be where it culminates, too?). TNA definitely doesn't need another title, but oh well. Meanwhile, Callihan attacking Warner furthered that feud, but I'm curious how they'll top their Street Fight from Sacrifice. Tessa Blanchard and Fatal Influence (Jacy Jane and Jazmyn Nyx) def. TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich, Lei Ying Lee and Xia BrooksideI liked that Blanchard looked to Fatal Influence to team with her to take on three women she has issues with. I believe she already pinned Slamovich in a tag team match a few weeks ago, so the fact she did it again here only reinforced that she's next in line for a TNA Knockouts World Championship opportunity. This was a well-worked match on the whole, but the crowd didn't sound too invested. Ethan Page Attacked Frankie KazarianWe were told throughout the show that we would find out who Hendry's challenger at Rebellion will be by the end of the night, and we did, but TNA went in a totally different direction than I was expecting. Kazarian looks like a moron for announcing ahead of time that he's cashing in his Call Your Shot trophy at the pay-per-view, but I guess the company just wants to get rid of the thing at this point. On paper, Hendry vs. Kazarian wouldn't have exactly been a must-see main event, so putting Page in there was a great twist. This was a weird segment because both guys are heels, but at least the Rebellion main event is now official. Overall ShowI completely forgot about Unbreakable coming up in two weeks. Will there still be a standard edition of iMPACT! that night, too? I hope not. Two TNA International Championship qualifiers have been confirmed for the card, but that's about it as of now. The build for Rebellion so far has been well done, though. This was a thumbs-up episode that was also newsworthy for the International title development, Fatal Influence and Meta-Four being in action, and Page returning.
