Brooks Jensen def. Home Town ManIt was the battle of the jobbers from their respective brands. At least Home Town Man can be entertaining and is over with the audience. I can't say the same for Jensen, who just can't seem to settle into a role that works. And then there's Lexis King, who was in the corner for Jensen but isn't in a much better spot himself. This was perfectly fine, but it probably being on the shorter side was probably for the best. TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The IInspiration Attacked Tessa Blanchard, Victoria Crawford and Mila MooreIt was nice to get a formal segment to set up the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match at Final Resolution instead of just the random announcement, but this was basic at best. I'm also not sure why Blanchard is managing Crawford and Moore instead of teaming with either one of them, nor has there been any follow-up to her Bound for Glory bout with Gia Miller. Maybe Miller will prevent Blanchard from interfering and we'll get a six-woman tag team matchup out of that? Xia Brookside def. Dani Luna in a TNA Knockouts World Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchLuna's been doing strong work since turning heel a few months ago, but while I would've liked to see her face Lei Ying Lee for the Knockouts title at Final Resolution, I have no issue with Brookside getting the shot instead since she and Lee are tag team partners, so it's a logical match to do for Lee's first defense. This was a well-worked outing and Indi Hartwell costing Luna the win furthered that feud. Mike Santana def. Robert StoneThis was the only NXT vs. TNA match on this show that felt like a total mismatch on paper (Stone hasn't been a regular in the ring in many years), so I'm glad it was booked like a straightforward squash with Santana going over quickly and decisively. Santana's post-match promo established that he means business ahead of his match with Charlie Dempsey at Final Resolution, which has the potential to be quite good if given the time. A.J. Francis Attacked TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater on First Class PenthouseA lot of the First Class Penthouse segments this year have fallen flat because rarely does anything of note actually happen, but they tend to be better when they have guests and/or exist to progress a storyline. This installment accomplished both of those things by teasing tension between Francis and Rich Swann and also getting more heat on Francis before he challenges Slater for the TNA X-Division Championship on Friday night. Mustafa Ali def. Trey MiguelBoth of these guys are great, so unsurprisingly, this was a very fun match in the time it was allotted. Sometimes all it takes is giving guys a chance to shine and letting them do their thing. The Rascalz will be taking on Order at Final Resolution, so expect more madness in that eight-man tag team matchup, especially if they're allowed to go all out and keep any shenanigans to a minimum. Team NXT (Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Lexis King, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe) def. Team TNA (TNA International Champion Steve Maclin, Cedric Alexander and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys)This latest NXT invasion has been weak so far and I can't say this match did much to change my mind, but from an in-ring standpoint, it was enjoyable enough. Team TNA was far more star-studded, but they kept the pace consistent throughout. It was also imperative for Team NXT to give them a much-needed momentum boost going into their respective matches at Final Resolution, specifically with Lorenzo pinning Maclin. Overall ShowAs I've said before, TNA's taping schedule sucks because they have an event coming up after having to miss a week due to Thanksgiving and that's in addition to Turning Point only being three weeks ago. Ideally, the newly-announced move to AMC next month will make iMPACT! more important from week to week, but on its own, this was an adequate episode to build toward Final Resolution.
