Kushida def. Leon Slater, Trent Seven, Ace Austin and JDC in a TNA X-Division Championship No. 1 Contender's Five-Way MatchSlater picked up the win for his team in that tag match against The System, so I was surprised he didn't win here. He continues to impress, though. I have no complaints about Kushida getting the shot instead as him against Moose should be great. Kushida would be a perfect fit as TNA X-Division Champion, but I'm sure Moose isn't losing the title that soon. This was a very fun five-way and it was smart to position it as the opener to kick off the show on a high note. TNA Digital Media Champion and International Wrestling Heavyweight Champion PCO and Sami Callihan def. The Good HandsI mentioned in last week's review that PCO and Callihan shockingly haven't had a ton of interactions (if any) on television to my knowledge despite their similar styles, and yet they teamed up one week later. It wasn't explained why they decided to join forces here or if this was simply a one-off, but they worked well together, if nothing else. The match itself was fine. The lights went off afterward and the number 23 flashed on the big screen, so we'll see what that's about. TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys def. The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) by DisqualificationMuch like at Turning Point, The Hardys were mega over in front of this North Carolina crowd. This was The System's contractually obligated championship rematch. We've seen this match a few different times before. While this was nothing new, the crowd was into the action as you'd expect. The disqualification finish was lame because it means the feud will continue. We found out from Santino Marella right afterward that these teams will meet in a Tables match at Final Resolution. Tasha Steelz def. Jordynne GraceThis wasn't officially billed as a number one contender's match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship, but it basically was since it was subsequently announced that Steelz will challenge Masha Slamovich at Final Resolution. Grace's TNA tenure is clearly coming to an end, so I appreciate that she's trying to put over other people on her way out. This was a well-worked match and a big victory for Steelz, but I still don't see her as a legitimate threat to the title. The Northern Armory (Josh Alexander, Judas Icarus and Travis Williams) and Frankie Kazarian def. Jonathan Gresham, Steve Maclin, Eric Young and Mike SantanaIt was announced that Alexander, Maclin, Santana and Joe Hendry will meet in a four-way at Final Resolution where the winner will go on to Genesis in January to challenge for the TNA World Championship, so that pretty much confirmed one of those three guys would scoring the winning fall in this match. This was a solid main event and Alexander going over allowed him to bounce back from his loss to Maclin at Turning Point. Overall ShowMost of the card for Final Resolution was made official because, even though Turning Point was last week, Final Resolution happens next Friday night. Yes, the quick turnaround isn't ideal, but TNA has made the most of that in the past and has put on quality events, regardless. This was a thumbs-up edition of iMPACT! that effectively followed up on Turning Point and built toward Final Resolution the best it could.
