Jake Something Interrupted TNA World Champion Joe Hendry's ConcertHendry's concert was along the same lines as his other concerts, but it was entertaining enough and the crowd was hot for him as you'd expect. We also found out that his next challenger will be Something and the setup for that match was simple stuff. Obviously, this was taped before his awesome cameo in WWE's men's Royal Rumble match last weekend, but had it been taped after, I'm sure the crowd would've been even hotter for Hendry. Ace Austin def. Tyson DupontI had no issue with Austin losing to Wes Lee last week, but it would've been a little much for him to lose to Dupont, too. Thankfully, that was not the case. This was decent and Austin was able to carry Dupont (who held his own to his credit) to a competent contest. As expected, The Rascalz once again made the save for Austin afterward when Dupont, Tyriek Igwe and Wes Lee attempted to attack, so that six-man tag team match is clearly coming soon. Savannah Evans Won a TNA Knockouts World Championship No. 1 Contender's Battle RoyalTessa Blanchard said beforehand that she refused to compete because she knew the rest of the women would gang up on her and throw her out. Smart call. This truly exposed the lack of depth in the Knockouts division right now with Jordynne Grace and others gone. I mean, they had to rely on Jazz coming out of retirement for a pop. This was a fairly basic Battle Royal and I can't too excited about the idea of Evans challenging Masha Slamovich, but I'm sure it will be a filler feud for Slamovich and nothing more. Steve Maclin and Josh Alexander Interrupted The Northern ArmoryYoung attempted to explain why he's the new leader of The Northern Armory, but as Maclin brought up, Young was also a victim of their attacks going into and coming out of Bound for Glory, so it feels like a forced development. That aside, I thought Young, Maclin and Alexander all cut quality promos here, successfully setting up Alexander vs. Young in what will be Alexander's official swan song from TNA on next week's iMPACT!. TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys and Leon Slater def. The System (TNA X-Division Champion Moose, Eddie Edwards and JDC)The Hardys and Slater made for a fun team and they had great chemistry as partners. This was a very nicely-paced match that the crowd was into throughout. It can't be a coincidence that Jeff Hardy has now pinned Moose twice in tag team action, which should lead to him challenging for the TNA X-Division Championship soon. The Hardys really need to move on from facing The System, though. Mike Santana def. Matt CardonaSantana has been a blast to watch evolve in TNA over the last year and he gets better with every performance he has on the mic and in the ring. Cardona isn't a full-time member of the TNA roster these days, so he was a logical person to put over Santana on his road to the TNA World Championship, albeit after an enjoyable, competitive match. Santana vs. Mustafa Ali appears to be where we're headed soon. NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer def. Ryan and Nic NemethEven in TNA, the former Dolph Ziggler is still struggling to win a WWE title. In all seriousness, this was a damn good main event. I rag on Ryan Nemeth because he's nothing special in the ring and his character is incredibly obnoxious, but he and his brother work really well together as partners and Fraxiom never fail to deliver when the titles are on the line. Tension is clearly being teased between the Nemeth brothers, so I can see Ryan being Nic's next feud before he shifts his focus back to the TNA World Championship. Overall ShowTNA has managed to maintain the buzz they got from their Genesis pay-per-view last month followed by the live edition of iMPACT! the subsequent Thursday. What's cool is that iMPACT! will once again be live in two weeks, this time from Full Sail University in Florida (the longtime home of WWE NXT until 2020). This was another above-average effort with a strong mix of matches, promos and storyline progression.
