TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The Elegance Brand (Ash and Heather by Elegance) def. Harley Hudson and Myla Grace (Non-Title)With it already being announced that The Elegance Brand will be defending the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship against The IInspiration at Slammiversary, this felt like a foregone conclusion, but it was a decent match for what it was. Why not build up the newcomers with a few more wins before facing the champs in non-title action? Hopefully they get more character development and aren't exclusively relegated to enhancement status. Cedric Alexander and The Great Hands def. Mustafa Ali's Secret ServiceThe "Secret Service" were not named, though it didn't matter since Alexander and The Great Hands made quick work of them. I understand why this match happened since Ali vs. Alexander is happening at Slammiversary and The Great Hands have had issues with Ali as of late, but it was also weird because it was established in a segment later on that Order 4 is still a thing. The match was whatever, but Tasha Steelz attacking Alexander afterward was interesting because she too seemed to be against Ali's actions. TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich and Lei Ying Lee def. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and NXT Women's Champion Jacy Jane)Slamovich loses so many tag team matches (including ones where she gets pinned) that it would have been very easy for her to lose her, but I'm glad she and Lee went over instead. This match received some time, but it was average at best. If and when Jane retains her NXT Women's Championship against Jordynne Grace this weekend at WWE Evolution, it will be Slamovich vs. Jane in a Title vs. Title matchup at Slammiversary. TNA International Champion Steve Maclin def. Mance Warner and Jake Something in a Three-Way MatchI liked how they didn't waste any time in getting the action underway. This was a well-worked three-way, but at only seven or eight minutes long, there was only so much they could do. Honestly, Maclin vs. Something is the bigger attraction to me, so hopefully Warner eating the pin here means they're saving that singles match for Slammiversary. Maclin has been a great fighting champion so far. Indi Hartwell def. Victoria CrawfordCrawford and Tessa Blanchard have been aligned since they were doing their thing with Robert Stone in the spring, so this was a logical match to do before Hartwell battles at Blanchard at Slammiversary, but this was weak. I'm actually surprised Crawford is still wrestling for TNA. Hey, at least they kept it brief. Blanchard addressing Hartwell in a post-match promo was a simply way to hype their upcoming clash. First Class and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Nemeths def. The Hardys and The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed)Reed is filling in for the injured Trey Miguel for now, but Miguel has since said on social media that he's been cleared for Slammiversary and will undergo hernia surgery after that. This was designed to serve as a preview of the upcoming four-team Ladder match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship and it succeeded in that respect. It was an enjoyable main event. Mike Santana and Joe Hendry emerged afterward to brawl with Trick Williams only to nearly come to blows themselves. Overall ShowWe also heard from Santana via a video package and Hendry via a pre-taped sit-down interview with Tom Hannifan addressing the Slammiversary main event and I thought those were two good pieces of business. All in all, TNA is doing an excellent job with the Slammiversary build this year and it's made for a string of solid editions of iMPACT!. This was very much a focused show and that alone earns it a thumbs-up in my book.
