TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater def. Jason Hotch and Cedric Alexander in a Three-Way MatchThis was incredibly random, especially since Hotch and Alexander did nothing (to my knowledge) to earn an opportunity at the TNA X-Division Championship. It was fun while it lasted, but it was way too short. I suppose that was by design since it was subsequently announced that, because Alexander wasn't pinned here, it'll be Slater vs. Alexander one-on-one for the title at Emergence. Dani Luna and Indi Hartwell def. Jody Threat and Arianna GraceThis was also somewhat random, but I know it was set up on last week's show with Luna and Hartwell agreeing to team. This felt like a way to get these women on the show. By the way, I thought Grace was done with TNA after her storyline with her father, Tessa Blanchard and Robert Stone ran its course? Regardless, this was decent. We'll see if Luna pinning her former tag team partner Threat leads to anything. The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed) def. The NemethsI figured The Nemeths would win to bounce back from their loss of the TNA World Tag Team Championship and because Reed probably isn't a permanent member of The Rascalz, but I'm not complaining about the outcome. This was good stuff. I wouldn't mind this version of The Rascalz challenging The Hardys at Emergence. The Nemeths beat down The Home Town Man afterward to get some of their heat back. Mike Santana Vowed to Win the TNA World ChampionshipSantana's Slammiversary loss was definitely disappointing and it was the wrong call for him not to be crowned TNA World Champion there, but I had no doubt he'd immediately rebound. Sure enough, he beat Joe Hendry clean last week and cut a great, passionate promo here vowing to be champ. That's obviously the endgame for Bound for Glory, but I'm curious what he does in the meantime. TNA Knockouts World Champion and NXT Women's Champion Jacy Jane def. Masha Slamovich by Disqualification (NXT Women's Championship Was Not Defended)There was no reason to think Jane was losing the TNA Knockouts World Championship so soon after winning it, especially after a taped show. The match was along the same lines as their Slammiversary encounter, but the disqualification finish with Ash by Elegance interfering was lame, if it was meant to set up Jane vs. Ash for the title on next week's show. Joe Hendry Interrupted Order 4I thought Mustafa Ali might resume his rivalry with Alexander coming out of Slammiversary, but apparently they're both moving in different directions for now. For Ali, it looks like he might be working with Hendry for a bit. It's interesting they're facing each other next week and not at Emergence, but perhaps Emergence is where we get the rematch. This was a fairly basic segment to build toward that. The System (Moose and Eddie Edwards) def. TNA World Champion Trick Williams and A.J. FrancisI guess The System are babyfaces now, just because they briefly feuded with DarkState? Okay, then. This was a solid, well-worked main event. While I maintain Williams should've lost the title to Santana at Slammiversary, I appreciate he's making regular appearances on iMPACT! while champ. Moose vs. Williams is already official for Emergence after Moose pinned Williams here. Overall ShowHonestly, the only thing to truly stand out from this episode was Santana's promo. Everything else was business as usual, making for an average edition of iMPACT! on the whole. There were a number of matches announced for Emergence because it's coming up in two weeks from Friday. TNA really needs to stop with the quick turnarounds between events because it hurts the build and makes those events feel more inconsequential.
