Trey Miguel vs. Leon Slater Ended in a No ContestThere really wasn't much of a reason for this match to be happening, which should have been the first indicator that it would end in some sort of an angle. Sure enough, WWE NXT's Charlie Dempsey showed up and crashed the contest by attacking both men. What we got was good, but it was clearly designed to kill time until the Dempsey interference. Please tell me this is leading to The Rascalz reuniting with Wes Lee to take on No Quarter Catch Crew at Slammiversary! Dani Luna vs. Jody Threat Ended in a Time-Limit DrawThis is at least the third time TNA has had babyface tag team partners face each other in recent weeks in an effort to get back on the same page (though in the case of Speedball Mountain, a shot at the TNA X-Division Championship was on the line). It'd be nice if they didn't follow that same formula with every team having issues. Nonetheless, the match was well worked, but the time-limit draw was lame. They were granted another five minutes, but they were attacked by Alisha Edwards and Masha Slamovich before it could continue. Frankie Kazarian def. Mike Santana by Count-Out in a Road to Slammiversary Qualifying MatchI was fine with the opener ending the way it did. As noted, the time-limit draw in the second match was lame, but whatever. Doing three non-finishes back-to-back-to-back was very lazy. I understand wanting to protect Santana in defeat, but couldn't they have spaced this stuff out a bit better? On the bright side, it was a fun match while it lasted. Johnny Curtis cost Santana the win, so I assume that's who Santana's Slammiverary opponent will be. "Broken" Matt and Rebecca Hardy def. The System (TNA World Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards and TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champion Alisha Edwards)Apparently it's been eight years since Rebecca was last on TV, or at least that's what she said. I assume she was talking about being in the ring because she's definitely been involved in some of the stuff with the Broken Universe. Hopefully this is the only match she has because she didn't look great here whatsoever. I'm actually shocked she spent as much time in the ring as she did. The overall match was decent at best, but it did give the Hardys a measure of revenge over The System. Joe Hendry def. Jake Something in a Road to Slammiversary Qualifying MatchHendry received a super loud reaction from the crowd when his music hit, significantly louder than anyone else on the show. I felt bad for Something because he's also a babyface and the crowd couldn't have cared less about him, but to his credit, he and Henry had a super solid main event. I loved how passionate Hendry sounded during his post-match promo. I'd love to see him win the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary, but I get the feeling TNA might be holding off on that until Bound for Glory. Overall ShowThe Slammiversay six-way main event for the TNA World Championship is set coming out of this show. Two episodes remain to build it up, but it pretty much sells itself given who will be a part of it. The non-finishes on this show were ridiculous and I wasn't too fond of the mixed tag team match, so I thought it was a mediocre episode on the whole. Several storylines progressed, so there was that, and Dempsey's appearance was notable.
