Mike Santana def. Zachary WentzI'm still bummed The Rascalz didn't reunite with Wes Lee on Tuesday's WWE NXT to take on Gallus. Maybe one of these days. And no, I don't think The Rascalz being heels at the moment makes much of a different because that can easily be ignored in NXT. At any rate, this was the enjoyable opener you'd expect from these two. Santana and Steve Maclin will team up to take on The Rascalz at Against All Odds and this served as a nice preview of that. Marti Belle def. TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champion Masha SlamovichI'm glad The Hex are sticking around a little longer to challenge for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship at Against All Odds. They're another female team that can be added to the mix, if only temporarily. I've never cared for Belle's singles matches, but she held her own here and the match was kept on the shorter side. I guess this was enough to earn The Hex a title opportunity tomorrow night. PCO Attacked First ClassBackstage beforehand, A.J. Francis was shown stealing the rose PCO gifted to Steph De Lander, so that's what led to PCO attacking him and Rich Swann here. It was a pretty simple segment to set up a TNA Digital Media Championship match between them for Against All Odds. It gets Francis on the show against a logical opponent and allows the storyline with PCO and De Lander to be furthered. Dani Luna def. Tasha SteelzSteelz managed to beat Jody Threat a few weeks out due to dissension within Spitfire, but Spitfire got back on track with a win for Luna here. I don't know if that means they've officially put their differences aside, but I suppose time will tell. This was a well-wrestled match that was thankfully given some time. I appreciate that we've got multiple stories playing out in the Knockouts division simultaneously, especially with some of them not involving championships. Ash by Elegance def. Jada StoneEven though this was taped weeks ago, I liked that the commentators (clearly in post-production) talked about Ash interfering in the NXT Women's Championship match at WWE NXT Battleground and costing Jordynne Grace the title. We know that Grace will be holding an open challenge for the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Against All Odds, but it'd be very underwhelming if Ash accepted. And if she doesn't, why wouldn't she? This was a fairly basic squash match for her. Nic and Ryan Nemeth def. ABCAlthough I don't think Ryan Nemeth is main event material in any promotion, this was a solid main event. Sure, you could have trimmed down the length by cutting out almost the entire first half, but the four guys worked well together. It gave the Nemeth brothers a notable victory before they challenge The System for the TNA World Tag Team Championship on Friday night. For what it's worth, no tension was teased between ABC. Overall ShowI really hope TNA is able to capitalize on the momentum and attention they've been able to garner through the working relationship with NXT by delivering a strong show with Against All Odds. Some NXT involvement is expected and I'm excited to see how that plays out. This was an average edition of iMPACT! with some successful hype for Against All Odds. The stuff on The Hardy Compound with The System didn't hit for me the same way the older Broken Universe segments and skits did, but I applaud their effort to do something out of the ordinary and get whatever mileage they can out of the Broken Universe.
