Eddie Edwards def. Leon Slater to Earn the Team Advantage for the 10-Man Tag Team Steel Cage Match at SacrificeIt sounds like this 10-man tag team match at Sacrifice is basically Lethal Lockdown, just without all of the weapons. In that case, it made total sense to give the heels the advantage because that always makes for a more interesting matchup. The story of Slater fighting valiantly before coming up short continues. He'll need to win when it matters most eventually, but this was an enjoyable opener. Wes Lee def. Laredo KidHonestly, Lee has been such a non-factor in WWE NXT in recent months that I'd have no issue with his "excursion" to TNA lasting a little longer. We didn't get to see him do much on his own the last time he was here years ago, so why not now? This simply existed to give him a singles win before the six-man tag team affair at Sacrifice, but it was fun while it lasted. Ace Austin and The Rascalz cut fine promos afterward. Xia Brookside def. Rosemary by DisqualificationBrookside just lost to Savanah Evans a week or two ago, so I didn't see her as a threat to Rosemary here. I guess Rosemary is in the process of being built up again based on how this was executed, unless the idea is to have the two of them feud. Both women feel directionless at the moment, so I wouldn't mind that. This never got out of first gear before Rosemary got herself intentionally disqualified with the mist. JDC def. Cody DeanerI know JDC will be taking part in the aforementioned cage match on Friday night, but I genuinely don't know what purpose this was supposed to serve. Yes, JDC picked up a rare victory, but it wasn't like he beat anything of note. Deaner works well in his role, but this felt like total throwaway. The best thing I can say about this is that it was kept on the shorter side and didn't waste too much time. Tessa Blanchard and Cora Jade def. TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich and Lei Ying LeeSimilar to last week, it's worth noting that this was taped before Jade was seemingly hurt on the March 4 edition of NXT, so I still have no idea what her status is for Sacrifice. I assume she'll compete considering nothing has been announced regarding her having to be replaced. At any rate, this turned into a very good match down the stretch. Blanchard pinning Slamovich all but confirms we're getting those two against each other for the TNA Knockouts World Championship sooner rather than later. TNA World Champion Joe Hendry def. Ryan Nemeth; Hendry def. HammerstoneHendry's challenger was advertised as a mystery, which led to Nemeth coming out and immediately accepting it before Santino Marella could reveal who it was. Thankfully, the match was over almost immediately with Hendry squashing him, as he should have. The subsequent title match between Hendry and the returning Hammerstone was super solid and served as a worthy sendoff for Hammerstone (who is no longer with TNA as of a few weeks ago). The post-match brawl gave the 10-man tag team cage match some nice additional hype. Overall ShowThe Sacrifice card already sold itself on paper, so I can't say this go-home edition of iMPACT! did much to make me any more excited for the event than I was previously. Despite that, this was a quality show. The (real) main event delivered and I especially liked the sit-down segment with Mike Santana and Mustafa Ali in the back. Some of the stuff in the middle felt inconsequential, but this was a thumbs-up effort on the whole.
