TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich Was Interrupted by Tessa Blanchard and Attacked by Jacy JaneSlamovich's mic skills are still improving, but I thought she cut a basic promo while addressing her win over Cora Jade at Sacrifice. We figured Tessa Blanchard was next for her at Rebellion, but I liked how they threw us a curveball with Jane making a surprise appearance and attacking Slamovich to set up a match for next week's iMPACT!. Jane has been a background player in WWE NXT for some time, so that will be a cool chance for her to show what she can do. The Rascalz def. The Northern Armory (Judas Icarus and Travis Williams)I believe Northern Armory beat The Rascalz and Ace Austin in a six-man tag team match a few weeks ago, so this was a logical match to do and to allow The Rascalz to keep building momentum following their win at Sacrifice. It was a fairly average outing, but Icarus and Williams have been impressive so far. Austin making the save for The Rascalz afterward indicates we'll be getting a rematch between the two trios soon. Chavo Guerrero and The Aztec Warriors Challenged Frankie Kazarian and First Class to a Six-Man Tag Team Match on First Class PenthouseIt's hard to believe it's been over a decade since Guerrero last appeared in TNA. I liked how Kazarian acknowledged how it was Guerrero and Hernandez who beat him and Christopher Daniels back in 2012 so there was a reason for him to be involved in this segment. First Class Penthouse still hasn't caught on for me, but this did serve a purpose in building toward next week's six-man tag team match. Mike Santana def. Mustafa Ali by Count-OutI was surprised to see this rematch be booked so soon after Sacrifice, but it quickly became apparent why. This was less of a match and more of an angle to further the feud without doing a formal finish, but I had no issue with it whatsoever, and even what we got was fun. These two have been having such a strong feud that I'm anticipating some sort of stipulation blow-off at Revolution that should steal the show. Nic and Ryan Nemeth Attacked Leon SlaterRyan is the definition of channel-changing material to me and, in my opinion, it's painfully obvious that Nic insists he be a part of his act when in reality he isn't necessary. It's possible TNA thinks he'll give Nic more heat simply by being associated with him. Regardless, I get that the story is supposed to be one brother tag team feuding with another (a.k.a. The Hardys). I'm looking forward to Nic vs. Slater next week. Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside def. Savannah Evans and RosemaryBrookside really hasn't done much of note in the last year, so I appreciate that she's finally being given a story. Rosemary essentially wants her to "embrace the hate," so we'll see if that's the direction she ends up going in. The match itself was well worked and gave the babyfaces a victory they needed despite the finishing sequences with Lee and Evans looking slightly botched. The Meta-Four, Spitfire and Gigi Dolin & Tatum Paxley Crashed Ash and Heather by Elegance's TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship CelebrationSpitfire's feud with Ash and Heather really ran its course, so I'm glad they're incorporating a few directionless teams from NXT like Meta-Four and the duo of Paxley and Dolin to freshen things up in the division. This segment lasted longer than it needed to, but at least it established that Ash and Heather will face Dolin and Paxley next Thursday. I assume this will lead to a four-team title match at Rebellion. Mance Warner def. MagnoWarner just defeated Sami Callihan in a Street Fight at Sacrifice, so it made sense to follow up on that with a decisive win for him. Magno was your average enhancement talent and Warner went over in roughly a minute as he should have. Warner and Callihan could resume their rivalry, but I'd rather see Warner move on to other opponents and continue to rack up victories. TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and Elijah def. The System (Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards)Matthew Rehwoldt on commentary still being skeptical of Elijah makes me think that him turning on Hendry is inevitable. Otherwise, who does Hendry defend the TNA World Championship against at Rebellion? That isn't exactly a marquee pay-per-view main event, so perhaps they hold off on that for a little later on. Either way, this was a solid, straightforward main event. Hendry has worked so much with The System this past year that this wasn't anything new, but it was a quality contest for the time they were allotted. Overall ShowWe've got a few matches heavily teased for Rebellion, so the build begins. This was an efficient edition of iMPACT! that featured fallout from Sacrifice and moved things forward. It was promo-heavy, but it had a good flow and the appearances from the NXT stars were newsworthy. No matches are worth seeking out, mind you, but I do think this episode was worthwhile on the whole.
