Brian Myers def. Ryan Nemeth, Trey Miguel, Home Town Man, Mance Warner and Eric Young in a Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl MatchAh, the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl match. It's never been something I've particularly cared about, but I appreciate TNA wanting to keep the tradition alive. As a match, there was nothing special about it, but you had to know Nemeth was eating the loss considering he was the biggest loser involved and it made the most sense for him to wear the ridiculous turkey suit. What I wasn't expecting was for it to become a show-long bit. Mike Santana and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater def. Mustafa Ali and TNA World Champion Trick Williams by DisqualificationThis was from September, hence why Williams was still TNA World Champion. It was the only old match on the show, which I guess is better than airing a "classic" match from years ago. It was a fairly basic tag team match and the disqualification finish was whatever, but on the bright side, Slater getting to share the ring with Santana, Ali and Williams felt like a nice endorsement of him Ryan Nemeth def. KrampusTo be perfectly honest, I didn't hate this. It actually worked really well that Nemeth, while wearing the turkey suit, faced a dude named Krampus, a Christmas character for those unfamiliar. I don't know if Krampus is an actual wrestler or someone in a Krampus costume, but either way, I thought he looked cool. It was a basic bout, but it could've been worse. Nemeth winning was slightly surprising, though. Joe Hendry and TNA World Tag Team Champion Jeff Hardy Attacked The NemethsI don't know when this was taped, but I'm going to assume it happened after The Hardys reclaimed the TNA World Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary (but not during that brief period where they were also NXT Tag Team Champions). Hendry and Hardy took turns singing songs, which the crowd ate up. "My Sacrifice" by Creed was the best one. The Nemeths only interrupted and got attacked so it wasn't just signing the whole time. TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater and The System (Moose, Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) def. Ryan Nemeth, Jake Something and First ClassSlater was on this show almost as much as Nemeth was and even got to pick up the win for his team here. Seeing him team with Moose was cool considering they were feuding over the TNA X-Division Championship this past summer, and the random assortment of heels played their roles well. This was another average outing, but they made the most of the time they were allotted. Overall ShowNeedless to say, this was very much a throwaway show, but it had more original content on it than any other Thanksgiving edition of IMPACT! that I can remember. Granted, none of these matches will mean anything in the long run, and Ryan Nemeth is far from my favorite wrestler on the roster, but they filled the two hours with some fun moments. Final Resolution is next Friday, so there's only one week left for them to build up the card. Hopefully TNA's event schedule improves after that.
