Jeff Hardy def. VincentThis is a match I've been looking forward to for a long time but never thought it'd actually happen. That goes well beyond the start of this storyline, by the way. I first saw Vincent on the northeast independent wrestling scene back in 2012 and he immediately gave me Jeff Hardy vibes, so it was cool to get this matchup all these years later. Granted, it was more about Matt Hardy bringing back his Broken persona to cost Vincent the win than it was the action in the ring, but it worked well as the opener. TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali def. Adam BrooksAli holding open challenges for international talent with his TNA International Championship on the line is a cool gimmick, especially since it gives newer names a chance to showcase their skills and potentially get signed. I'm sure we're going to get some good matches out of them, too, as this was exactly that. I remember Brooks from the brief stint he had in Ring of Honor years ago and thought he had an impressive performance here. Allie, Rosemary and Mara Sade def. Mila Moore, Victoria Crawford and Tessa BlanchardAlthough Sade feels randomly thrown into this whole thing, at least it's giving her something to do until she goes after the TNA Knockouts World Championship eventually. This was a solid six-woman tag team match and it was logical to have Allie go over in her return to the ring, specifically by pinning Moore. I have to imagine they'll be chasing the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship sooner rather than later. Indi Hartwell Called Out TNA Knockouts World Champion Arianna GraceGrace was responsible for putting Hartwell on the shelf (in storyline) when she attacked her backstage a month or two ago. I'm glad Hartwell's back and has her sights set on the TNA Knockouts World Championship because she should be the one to ultimately unseat Grace as champ (it should have happened at Bound for Glory when she faced Kelani Jordan but better late than never). This was a fine segment to put that program into motion. Mr. Elegance def. The Home Town ManUgh. I get a kick out of Home Town Man's shtick and I think most crowds do as well, but I can't say the same for Mr. Elegance. Props to him for really selling the character, but I find it to be channel-changing material. The match was whatever. I also think it's stupid that Home Town Man upset a former TNA World Champion in Frankie Kazarian not too long ago, yet loses to Mr. Elegance. Make it make sense. Moose Saved TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater from The SystemThis segment set up Slater vs. Cedric Alexander for the TNA X-Division Championship on the May 14th edition of iMPACT!, where Slater will break Austin Aries' record as the longest-reigning X-Division champ of all-time if he wins. It also furthered Moose's feud with The System with him saving Slater from them, so although it was simple stuff, it served a purpose. Elijah def. Frankie Kazarian in a Walk with Elijah Guitar Strap MatchAmazingly, this marked the second stipulation match Elijah has had in the main event of iMPACT! in recent months, and he won yet again. I had no issue with the outcome because he had to avenge his loss to Kazarian from Rebellion, but it does leave me wondering if these wins for Elijah will ever amount to anything other than meaningless midcard feuds. Nonetheless, they made the most of the strange stip and had an enjoyable main event. Overall ShowUnless they add an event between now and then, TNA has a ton of time to kill before Slammiversary at the end of June, so expect more shows like this in the meantime. I wouldn't call this filler by any means, but when a Guitar Strap match is the most important thing on the entire episode, it's not a must-see show. They are building toward some bigger matches in the coming weeks, so there's that.
