TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater Saved TNA World Champion Mike Santana from The System During the TNA World Championship Contract Signing for RebellionSantana vs. Edwards still doesn't feel like a major main event for Rebellion to me and part of that could be because it came together on such short notice. To their credit, however, they did what they could here to build up their bout. Slater and Cedric Alexander getting involved was logical seeing as how they'll also be going one-on-one on Saturday night. This was a solid segment to start the show. Jada Stone def. Dani LunaI was surprised to see this advertised for this episode considering Luna left the company a few weeks ago. Then again, I assume this was taped right before she requested and was granted her release. She was doing excellent work, so it sucks to see her go. At least she put over Stone on her way out. Stone is someone to keep an eye out for and I thought they had a nice match. Tasha Steelz attacked Stone afterward to further that feud. The Elegance Brand Attacked Taryn TerrellI know Terrerll returned to TNA a few weeks ago, but it was totally random and we didn't actually hear from her until now. I appreciated that she was given promo time to explain why she decided to return and I thought she did well. It's well documented in my reviews that I'm no fan of Elegance Brand, so while I didn't care to see them show here for what felt like forever, I understand putting more heat on them before the six-woman tag team match at Rebellion. Frankie Kazarian def. B.D.E.When was the last time B.D.E. won anything of note in TNA? He appears fairly frequently but has quickly been established as undercard fodder. I'm not saying he should be TNA World Champion or anything, but TNA seems to have squandered any momentum he had a few months ago. Nonetheless, he and Kazarian worked well together. We also got more hype for his upcoming clash with Elijah. Elayna Black def. Myla GraceGrace and Harley Hudson have been certified losers pretty much since the beginning of their respective runs, so Grace losing here was never truly in doubt. This served as a straightforward showcase for Black coming off her loss to Mara Sade at Sacrifice. I don't know where she goes from here and how else she'll rebound, but this was thankfully a step in the right direction. Eric Young Attacked Ricky SosaMan, Young quickly moved on from feuding with Slater over the TNA X-Division Championship to Sosa. He really is the gatekeeper of TNA. I wouldn't say it's the most exciting first feud for Sosa in TNA, but Young has credibility from everything he's accomplished in the decades he's spent with the company. This was simple stuff, but it accomplished what it needed to. TNA International Champion Trey Miguel and Moose Attacked Order 4The rivalry between Miguel and Mustafa Ali has been one of the best parts about TNA lately and this was another strong segment with them. Both guys cut great promos heading into their match at Rebellion and Moose making the save made sense since he'll be battling Order 4's Special Agent 0 at the event. I'm probably more excited for Miguel vs. Ali than anything else on that card. TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys def. The Righteous in a Tables MatchI was wondering why this wasn't saved for Rebellion, but then I remembered that The System are technically the number one contenders to the tag titles right now, so they had to get this out of the way on iMPACT!. The Hardys continue to do a lot with a little in their matches as far as taking just enough risks for these stipulations to be worth it. This was an entertaining main event, though I was hoping The Righteous would finally beat them for the belts. Overall ShowThe main event had nothing to do with Rebellion since The Hardys have an entirely different defense on that card, but that was the correct choice to close the show. This was as effective of a go-home episode TNA could have produced with the build for Rebellion having to be so rushed. I don't have high hopes for the pay-per-view, but it could exceed expectations from an in-ring standpoint alone.
