The Nemeths def. TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater and TNA World Champion Mike SantanaI'm surprised they didn't save this for the match considering the star power involved (everyone except Ryan Nemeth, that is), but I'm not complaining. This was a good, well-worked opener. Nic Nemeth pinning Slater would seem to suggest that he'll be challenging him for the TNA X-Division Championship before he attempts to cash in his Call Your Shot Trophy on the TNA World Championship. Dani Luna def. Lei Ying LeeThis was the match we were supposed to get at Genesis before visa issues prevented Luna from appearing. I'm glad we ended up getting it at all, but I wish it was over the TNA Knockouts World Championship, which is now in the possession of Arianna Grace. Nonetheless, this was a nice bout and a big win for Luna. Why couldn't she have won the title from Lee instead of Grace? A.J. Francis def. Mance Warner by DisqualificationI'm going to assume Warner is a babyface now. Otherwise, I'm not sure why this match would have happened. Francis is a heat magnet, so if they want to get Warner over as a fan favorite, Francis is the perfect person for him to be working with. I didn't expect much from this matchup, so I wasn't shocked by it being mediocre, but the disqualification finish allows the feud to continue. The Elegance Brand Attacked Mickie JamesI appreciate the effort to develop more stories in the women's division that aren't over a title, but this wasn't a great segment. James' promo was passable, and they did an effective job of establishing their history outside of the ring, but Ash by Elegance's delivery was terrible. The constant screaming in particular was just awful and the execution of the whole thing was pretty poor. Hopefully the eventual match between the two will be better. Jada Stone def. Tasha SteelzThis was a logical follow-up their interaction in that recent mixed tag team match. This was a decent match with Stone showing more signs of potential and Steelz being a solid base for her. Stone picking up the win was cool to see, and although Steelz laid her out afterward, they can have more matches and ideally Stone will go over decisively in the end so the Knockouts division can have a new star in the mix. TNA World Champion Mike Santana Saved Tom Hannifan from Steve MaclinIf it wasn't already obvious, Maclin's recent "firing" wasn't legitimate and it's actually an angle. That's fine by me because Maclin would be a significant loss for TNA if he were to leave. His exchange with Hannifan was what the exchange with Ash and James should have been earlier. They also delved into their history together and generated sympathy for Hannifan when Maclin attacked him before Santana made the save. We've seen Santana vs. Maclin before, but I'm digging the story they're telling with them here. The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Bear Bronson and Cedric Alexander) def. The Righteous and TNA World Tag Team Champions The HardysYou need to keep putting The System over strong and this is how you do that. The match itself was entertaining with The Hardys and The Righteous again trying to form a cohesive unit and again falling short. The Righteous unfortunately keep being made to look like losers, but it was more important for The System to score the win here. Post-match, Moose and Alisha Edwards made the save. I'm curious what the endgame with Alisha is and why they're dragging it out, because if this is leading to her just betraying Moose and rejoining The System, then it feels painfully predictable. Overall ShowiMPACT! has put together a string of quality shows since that less-than-stellar AMC premiere and it's a shame more people aren't talking about it. It's pretty much the same show they were delivering on AXS TV (and that's a positive), just on a bigger network. This episode was another example of that. The Sacrifice build has begun and it's clear what the card will consist of.
