 TNA World Champion Mike Santana def. Eric YoungI'm glad they didn't save this for Slammiversary. That isn't to say this was a bad match because it wasn't, but the outcome wouldn't have been in doubt had it happened there. To their credit, though, this was a damn good match from Santana and Young. Post-match, Nic Nemeth announced that he will cash in his Call Your Shot trophy at Slammiversary to challenge Santana for the TNA World Championship. Mr. Elegance def. Elijah; TNA Knockouts World Champion Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside BrawledElegance vs. Elijah wasn't much of a match at all, as a layer showing up to give Elijah a cease and desist letter on A.J. Francis' behalf caused Elijah to be rolled up and lose in a matter of seconds. TNA really needs to stop trying to make Mr. Elegance a thing. The segment continued with Lee and Brookside brawling to build toward their TNA Knockouts World Championship clash at Slammiversary. The System (TNA X-Division Champion Cedric Alexander and Eddie Edwards) def. Leon Slater and Fabian AichnerSlater and Aichner made for a fun team, and both of them are excellent additions to the Ultimate X match for the TNA X-Division Championship at Slammiversary. This served as a nice preview of what to expect in Ultimate X and I liked that Alexander stole the win by pinning Slater (who has to be on his way out of TNA). Moose made the save for the babyfaces afterward and made it clear that he'll be facing Edwards at the upcoming pay-per-view. The Hardys Taunted The RighteousThe Righteous bragged about beating The Hardys in that Wicked Garden match last week, leading to Santino Marella announcing that both they and The Hardys (because of their automatic rematch clause) will take part in a Ladder matchup with The System for the TNA World Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary. The lights flickered at the end of the segment to show that The Hardys are still playing mind games with them. This accomplished what it needed to, but it's amazing how obsessed TNA is with doing Ladder matches, especially when it comes to The Hardys. Allie, Rosemary and Mara Sade def. The Elegance Brand (TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions Heather and M by Elegance and Ash by Elegance)If wasn't already obvious, Allie and Rosemary are totally fighting for Elegance Brand's TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship at the Slammiversary, and this bout got us one step closer to that. Sade's involvement was rather random, but I guess Allie and Rosemary just needed a partner. This was a serviceable six-woman tag team match with the correct result. TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali def. KC NavarroNavarro is a hell of a talent and I'm stoked that he's been getting so many opportunities to shine as of late. I didn't think he was taking the title here, but I appreciated that he was made to look credible in defeat. This was an entertaining main event despite not getting a ton of time. Nemeth and Santana made the save afterward before Nemeth laid out Santana. I don't know if that's an official heel turn for Nemeth or just them teasing tension because they'll be opponents at Slammiversary. Overall ShowThe Slammiversary card is slowly but surely coming together and this edition of iMPACT! gave us a much better idea of what it's going to consist of. This was a rock solid show on the whole thanks to the enjoyable action and build for the pay-per-view. Yes, it's coming up in a little over two weeks, so most of this stuff should have been established earlier, but at least we're getting it now.
