 Eric Young Won a TNA World Championship No. 1 Contender's Battle RoyalThis wasn't exactly the most star-studded Battle Royal I've ever seen, so I guess it was for the best that they kept it on the shorter side. It was bad enough that Young beat EC3 in last week's No Disqualifications match, but him as the number one contender to the TNA World title just isn't that interesting, even if the match happens on an upcoming edition of iMPACT! and not Slammiversary. Xia Brookside Interrupted TNA Knockouts World Champion Lei Ying LeeIf Brookside has such an issue with Lee, you think she would've cost her the TNA Knockouts World Championship last week instead of letting her win it. The booking continues to be confusing. Although the mic work wasn't anything special, this was a decent segment to follow up on Lee regaining the gold and to set up an eventual match between Lee and Brookside with the belt on the line. A.J. Francis def. KC Navarro in a Sactown Street FightFrancis and Navarro got a little too cute with the baseball stuff, but the crowd seemed to get a kick out of it, so who am I to nitpick? Other than that, this was a fun Street Fight. I like the dynamic these guys have, both as partners and as opponents. The finish felt pretty definitive, so I'm curious to see where they go from here if the feud is indeed over and done with. TNA World Champion Mike Santana, Daria Rae and Santino Marella Exchanged WordsNot only did we find out from Marella in this segment that Indi Hartwell has re-signed with TNA, it was also announced that Santana will defend the TNA World Championship next week against the returning Steve Maclin. Obviously, both of those things were newsworthy, but as I've said before, the way they structure these segments with Santana and the authority figures is terrible. The dueling authority figure nonsense does nothing for me. Rosemary and Allie def. Victoria Crawford and Mila MooreRosemary and Allie already beat Crawford and Moore as part of that six-woman tag team match a few weeks ago, but they doubled down with another win over them here. The match itself was fine, but it was more about establishing that Rosemary and Allie are once again a united force. I have to imagine the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship will be in their future. Cedric Alexander def. Leon Slater in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match to Win the TNA X-Division ChampionshipI'm genuinely shocked Alexander won the title a day before Slater would've broken the record for longest reign. It's not like they treat Austin Aries as an all-time TNA legend or whatever. At the same time, records are almost always broken in wrestling, so I didn't mind that it didn't happen here. Anyway, they had the usual great match and the stipulation added to the suspense. Fabian Aichner debuting afterward was a sweet surprise. Overall ShowIt was cool that they closed the night with such a huge title change and an entertaining main event at that (along with Aichner's debut). They're trying to keep things rolling with the TNA World Championship picture, and I'm all for multiple challengers waiting in the wings, but they have to decrease the presence the authority figures have on these shows. All in all, this was a thumbs-up episode with a nice flow.
