Pre-Show: Jake Something def. The Home Town Man and Mance Warner in a Three-Way MatchWhy not put a future shot at the TNA International Championship on the line to make the match matter? It was slotted on the pre-show, so I can't complain too much about it not having stakes. It was well worked and they filled the time well. I'd love to this this win for Something might actually amount to something, but I gave up on TNA doing anything significant with Something a while ago. Pre-Show: Nic Nemeth Confronted TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian on The King's SpeechI'm glad we got to hear from Kazarian coming off his TNA World Championship win on iMPACT! before he wrestled in the tag team main event later on in this show. Granted, that terribly-executed ending to iMPACT! put more heart on the company than Kazarian himself, but he cut a good promo here, nonetheless. I can do without TNA President Carlos Silva constantly getting screen time, but I liked that Nemeth said he'd trust Kazarian for the evening but not in general because of how Kazarian was the only one who benefited from the NXT invasion on Thursday night. TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan def. M by EleganceAmazingly, this was a significant improvement over Jordan's title defense against Heather by Elegance on Thursday's iMPACT!. Of course, it had to be competitive to justify happening on a special event, but to her credit, M had a more impressive performance than I was expecting. My only issue with this was that Jordan was the babyface by default despite turning heel a few weeks ago in NXT. They need to figure out what Jordan's character is supposed to be and stick with it. A.J. Francis def. B.D.E.B.D.E. interacted in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Battle Royal at Bound for Glory, and I believe they've also crossed paths on the independent scene. For those unfamiliar, B.D.E. is a pro wrestling content creator that started wrestling himself and he's pretty damn fun to watch. Francis was a logical in defeat, and although Francis going over was the right call, B.D.E. was made to look credible in defeat. Indi Hartwell def. Dani Luna in a No Disqualifications MatchNot only was this better than the match these two had on iMPACT!, it was also way better than the match Hartwell had with Jordan at Bound for Glory. Hartwell and Luna put forth an awesome effort here and made the most of the stipulation. Hopefully the idea is to build up Hartwell for another opportunity at the TNA Knockouts World Championship and eventually dethroning Jordan. TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The IInspiration def. The Angel Warriors and Victoria Crawford & Mila Moore in a Three-Way Tag Team MatchThis came out of nowhere and I don't recall it even being announced on iMPACT! unless I missed something. It got the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship defended on the card, but there wasn't anything special about it whatsoever aside from it featuring the debut of Moore. I thought she did well, but she would have been spotlighted more if this Order 4 (Mustafa Ali and The Great Hands) def. Cedric Alexander and TNA World Tag Team Champions The HardysAlexander's chemistry with The Hardys is just as great as his chemistry with Leon Slater as well as The Hardys' chemistry with Slater. This was the entertaining outing the six stars were capable of. Ali pinned Alexander, but I still think this is leading to The Great Hands challenging The Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Championship soon, most likely at Final Resolution next month. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel and Myron Reed) def. The System (JDC, Moose, Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers)Yes, The Rascalz' "mystery partner" was indeed Xavier. The fact he wasn't advertised made me think there was a small chance they might swerve us with someone else, but thankfully, that wasn't the case. This was a hell of a sprint. Xavier pinning JDC for the victory made sense with JDC announcing his upcoming retirement on iMPACT!. Reportedly, Xavier isn't signed to TNA, so this return run may not last long. TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater def. Rich SwannI appreciate that Swann's accomplishments as a former TNA X-Division Champion and TNA World Champion were acknowledged, but he's been a non-factor in TNA for a while now. This would have meant more with a better build, but hey, they needed something for Slater to do on this show on short notice and this is what they came up with. With all of that said, they worked well together and had an enjoyable outing. Mike Santana and TNA International Champion Steve Maclin def. TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian and Nic NemethFor those that missed it, it was being "reported" by some outlets online that Santana didn't show up on time to the event and TNA couldn't get in contact with him, which Fightful later confirmed to be a work. That's why Maclin was on his own until the very end. What a stupid storyline. The rest of the match was fairly basic. One night into Kazarian's TNA World Championship reign, he's already gotten pinned. I can't say I'm surprised, but it was still silly, regardless. NXT's job crew attacked everyone again afterward, including Kazarian. This "invasion" isn't exactly off to the strongest start. Overall ShowFor a card that literally came together in one day, Turning Point turned out to be a nice show. I hated everything they did with Santana and the main event (even though there was nothing wrong with the match itself), but the rest of the show was solid. However, TNA is going to need much more than this to get momentum back on their side after that all-time terrible ending to iMPACT! on Thursday. Some general direction with where things are headed would help.
