Roman Reigns def. Bronson ReedMuch like the rest of the show, this match definitely benefited from the crowd being as hot as they were. It was still a good match, and I was expecting a Reigns win, but I wish Reed had just gone over if the idea was to write Reigns off television (again) for the month of September while he films Street Fighter. To their credit, the attack was well done and The Vision got great heat for it. WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy) def. The Street ProfitsAlthough the build for this match felt rushed with Street Profits only becoming number one contenders again on Friday's SmackDown, I'm not complaining because it's not often the WWE Tag Team Championship are defended on pay-per-view. Plus, the crowd singing along during Wyatt Sicks' entrance was cool. It was an average outing. I'm not sure what Wyatt Sicks are supposed to be since they come off as babyfaces most of the time yet Uncle Howdy cheated by attacking Montez Ford to aid Lumis and Gacy to victory, so crowds are confused as to whether they should be cheering or booing them. Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch def. Nikki BellaI've been enjoying this rivalry a lot more than I thought I would and Bella's been having a strong return run so far. That said, it's unfortunate the crowd was as quiet for this as they were. It was a super solid match that felt like it didn't reach that next gear due to the abrupt ending, but perhaps that was by design in case they continue feuding, which they should. Either way, Lynch retaining the title was the right call. Rusev def. Sheamus in a Good Ol' Fashioned Donnybrook MatchAs I've said before, I'm glad these two made the card. They've been having a fairly basic feud this summer, but it's been effective in not only keeping them busy but also allowing Rusev to work with someone that's over. This was a fun brawl where they made nice use of the stipulation and beat the hell out of each other. Rusev tapping out Sheamus was a pleasant surprise, and according to the commentators, it was only the second time Sheamus has submitted (not to be confused with passing out) in his entire WWE career, the first being in a match with Bobby Lashley in 2021. John Cena def. Logan PaulAlthough I don't think it needed as much time as it got, this was a very entertaining encounter. They worked well together and both guys excelled in their respective roles as I assumed they would in front of this crowd. Props to Paul for adding a few more moves to his arsenal. Not everything looked entirely smooth (including from Cena), but that's merely nitpicking. I would've preferred this version of Cena over the disappointing heel run he had, but better late than never. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins def. CM Punk, LA Knight and Jey Uso in a Fatal 4-Way MatchOf course, the outcome was never in doubt due to Rollins winning the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this month, but the action was enjoyable and they kept the pace consistent throughout. There was a lot of talk online about another member of The Vision being revealed here, and honestly, I didn't have Lynch on the mind. I love the move. If Punk needs some female backup, will he finally enlist the help of his wife AJ Lee for a mixed tag team match eventually? Overall ShowI know most people don't like the five-match cards, but I actually would've preferred had they gone with five matches for this show and cut the WWE Tag Team Championship match (I understand why it was added but it was ultimately unnecessary). A near-four-hour runtime was too much for what wasn't one of WWE's bigger or better events of the year, and it did drag in the middle, but this was a serviceable, straightforward show on the whole. I imagine they'll put more effort into making Wrestlepalooza feel must-see with it airing opposite of AEW All Out on September 20th.
