The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) def. Roman Reigns and The UsosIf they weren't going to headline, it was smart to put the Bloodline boys on first. This started slow, but the crowd more into it as the action progressed. The key was Sikoa pinning Reigns clean. He hasn't won a ton of big matches this year, so that was necessary if WWE wants the audience to view him as some sort of a threat. The post-match angle with Sami Zayn coming out and accidentally kicking Reigns was well done and sets the stage for him helping out Reigns and The Usos against The Bloodline in WarGames at Survivor Series. WWE Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill def. Piper Niven & Chelsea Green, Damage CTRL (IYO SKY and Kairi Sane) and The Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team MatchWWE pulled off the impossible by getting me excited for this match coming into the event. The build exceeded expectations and that Fatal 4-Way on Friday's SmackDown was a lot of fun. While this wasn't as enjoyable, it was still solid with everyone getting a chance to shine. I thought for sure we were getting a title change, but apparently not. I'm not even sure who's left for Belair and Cargill to defend against. Seth "Freakin" Rollins def. Bronson ReedBelieve it or not, this marked Reed's first-ever singles match on a WWE pay-per-view (not counting NXT live specials). He made the most of the opportunity by having a very good match with Rollins. However, I hated the finish. There was zero reason for Rollins to win. Hell, he even had an out for losing with Reed "injuring" him last Monday on Raw. That was ridiculous, even though Reed was made to look credible in defeat. Women's World Champion Liv Morgan def. WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax to Win the Women's Crown Jewel ChampionshipMorgan and Jax have never had the greatest in-ring chemistry, so I can't say I was surprised that this was easily the weakest match of the entire show. It didn't help that both of them are currently heel and I just don't care about the Crown Jewel Championship nonsense. Throw in the constant interference from Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio and this was a mess all around. Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton Never Got UnderwayI knew the card being advertised as seven matches was too good to be true! Okay, I kid. I actually have no issue with this turning into an angle instead with the two of them brawling. It was kept short and sweet and I especially liked how Owens came off as dangerous by standing tall over Orton. Triple H emphasized that during his recent segment with Orton, so it was important to reinforce that here. United States Champion LA Knight def. Carmelo Hayes and Andrade in a Triple Threat MatchThis was the match I was looking forward to more than anything prior to the pay-per-view and it definitely delivered. Andrade and Hayes have been killing it in their Best-of-7 Series and Knight has played his role nicely. All three of them worked wonderfully together here, and although this only lasted nine minutes, they made every minute matter. This was a blast and the finish looked fantastic. I'm curious who Knights moves onto now. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes def. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther to Win the Men's Crown Jewel ChampionshipAs I mentioned earlier, I had zero interest in whoever walked away with the Crown Jewel Championship, but the match itself was excellent and worthy of praise. Rhodes and Gunther are two traditional performers who work an old-school style, so this was every bit of the mat classic I hoped it would be. I appreciated that the finish was decisive, though I would've liked to see Gunther go over instead. The best part is that the Crown Jewel Championship crap is over and we can get back to the champs defending their titles heading into Survivor Series. Overall ShowWWE's Saudi Arabia events have actually gotten a lot better in the past three years, but this wasn't one of the stronger installments. It wasn't all that newsworthy, so it was one of those "fine if you caught it, fine if you didn't" type of shows. I'll give it a thumbs-up, but not an overly enthusiastic one. I'm not thrilled with these Crown Jewel Championships becoming an annual tradition, but oh well. WWE did what they could with the concept, and at least the men's match was worthwhile.
